Loud crackling at low volume.

Corsair Vengeance 2000 issues.

I've had my headphones for about 4 months now (second pair) and I've noticed recently there is loud crackling when I'm listening to something that is on low volume, I can't really explain it well, I'm going to try though.

When I listen to music on my media player at 25-100% volume it's fine, it's probably drowning out the cracking noise, but when I'm listening to music on low volumes or a video on YouTube for example the audio is cracking/hissing. I've tried everything to try fix it. I've tried deleting drivers and reinstalling, using older versions of drivers, reinstalling Windows etc, nothing seems to fix it.

Open Device Manager and expand the sound.... section. Do you see the V2000 listed there?

Have you tried adjusting the equalizer settings e.g. less than zero? Does it help?

I haven't tried messing with the equalizer, it's always been on default and worked fine for me.

Does the crackling noise only happen when viewing Youtube videos?

Does it happen on another browser?

Latest flash player?

Is the headset set on 2.0 Stereo when playing the video?

It's happening on everything, teamspeak, youtube, vlc media player, fullscreen games seem to be exempt.

I always use 2.0 stereo and have the latest version of flash.

Have you tried muting the Line In? Corsair has great hardware products but sadly their drivers are terrible and I'd advice everyone to stay away from products requiring them.

Vengeance 1500's but they're not that different.

Does the issue happen on Windows 7 with the drivers installed?

If not, it might the an a problem with the OS, programs or drivers and not the headset.

I have no drivers installed on my dual booted W7, and I don't have the problem.
