squidman
Didn't do a good job measuring before ordering my last two hdd cages and backplanes for the 900d. It turns out my PS is just too big too allow the last cage! Kudos to Corsair for delivering them in under a week to Scandinavia tho! Any ideas? All the other cages are taken, including the 5.25" ones at the top (removed in attached shot if I manage to upload). The only solution I can see is to dremel! and have the PS sticking well out of the back of the case, not sure how I would attach it tho'. Bit bummed that Corsair didn't actually TEST the case with their own PS (mine is ax1200) and the advertised 5 hdd cages! Just need the extra inch or two of length! Can't mount the two extra cages on top of each other as have ssi-eeb (same as EATX) board with 2 cpu's in there. Man maybe I should have just splurged on a mountain mods case! But yes I do love the 900d for its' sexiness. Don't bother to ask me about cooling products, have sent enough diatribes already. Gripe 2...have to upload to flickr just to be able to show some pics! <imgsrc=”http://www.flickr.com/photos/90533609@N05/9901133675/” /> <img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/90533609@N05/9901177326/"/> Try again...http://www.flickr.com/photos/90533609@N05/9901133675/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/90533609@N05/9901177326/ Where is show/edit html code on this anyway? Wow that would make things a bit easier! Still an extremely old-fashioned GUI...bit rusty on the html but tried to insert here...:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil: Ok link to pics here: and here because it looks like they're incapable of getting simple forum software to work. I've never had problems with similar bulletin boards somehow...wtf?
wytnyt
when you reply to a post,in the box you type in,look at the top and youll see a smiley face where 'emotions' are displayed, right beside that youll see a ''paper clip'' icon, roll your mouse over it and itll say ''attachments''..click this and it brings up a box where you can search for a pic file on your computertheres a file size limit of 1 meg so if it doesnt upload then its probably too big and will need to be re sized... squidman
aaah ok thanks for that...didn't know (should be headlined somewhere on top of bbs!) the 1 mb attachment limit! Btw wytnyt or ramdude or other alias, everything is still going to **** here..on startup, the h80i's die on their *** (but the other fans spin up), and then as soon as i unplug_/replug the h80i's via sata power, all the other fans stop, despite fixing shoddy cooling node molex input. I'm about to give up, send the whole shebang back to corsair and ask them to replace it all with a cooling solution from a competitor Last shot is a usb internal header expander from nzxt before I call it quits... Wired
On flickr, hit the share button, then at the botton of the pop up, click "Grab the HTML/BBCode", and then click the radio button for BBCode to get the BBCode to post onto a forum. wytnyt or ramdude or other aliaswytnyt is not Ram Guy. squidman
Well update is that it seems to be working for the moment (haven't had the cojones to restart cold yet!) once I updated cooling node to latest firmware...the cooling node once the molex was fixed (shoddy QA!) is now finally recognized, and all fans spin up instead of dying as soon as the commander starts. Fingers crossed, it will keep working! Ordered some 'cough' quiet fans from a competitor, (the stock ones are pretty damned loud!), and was about to shelve the whole corsair thing, but it started working again in the nick of time. squidman
That (admin, RAMGuy, wynyt etc) doesn't solve the problem that a 900d can't actually fit 5 hdd cages once an ax1200 or ax1200i is in there! So I have (as advertised, yes I know, silly me, I believed them, and didn't measure) extra hdd cage with backplane which has no chance in hell of actually fitting in the last slot on the bottom! And I have no idea how to fit it, and of course I have another 5 hdd's going in here! Any ideas? (I believe that was the original intent of the thread..got sidetracked with my cooling link cluster-fu!!)...so how would you mod the case to fit in that last hdd cage? squidman
BBCode here http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3732/9901133675_9765446381.jpg 20130923_184938 by Squidman2012, on Flickr WTF????
squidman
Hottamn it finally worked! Just a shame the BB doesn't allow html editing...thanks admin! http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2876/9901177326_562bcea901.jpg 20130923_184859 by Squidman2012, on Flickr Hopefully the corsair 1000d will be an inch or two longer in depth, and the top cages for 5 1/4 more easily removable (so we can stack hdd cages with hot swap there) and they will have fixed the cooling node v2 and software by then! It would also be nice if we could put fans where the above-mentioned 5 1/4" cage is now.....or rads. Iff you're going to go big, may as well go all out! Oh yeah, mountain mods or lian li probably already have this sorted....? But it IS still a sexy case, I'll give the design peps that....
