kentuckysh4rk
Is there a way to reduce how loud the h80i gets on bootup?
JKeifer
I assume you are talking about the fan noise here and the bios in most motherboards start the fans out at maximum speed and, after a few seconds, throttles them back to where they should be. My Intel mobo doesn't allow the initial boot speed to be controlled and there may be no way to limit the initial speed in your system either. sinnedone
If you are talking about the ramping up of fan speeds to full during boot of fans connected to the H80i then no. It is not built into the firmware/software for it to perform this way. It is supposed to do this to verify max fan speeds. I will say this behavior is annoying though and wish Corsair would implement a different way of handling this.
Specter
This is how its supposed to be. The fans only spin at max speed for about 10 seconds anyway. Is 10 seconds that much of an annoyance to you? That 10 seconds verifies the max fan speed and blows all the dust out of the radiator fins. If you started at low speed the dust will just stay in the fins hindering cooling performance.
sinnedone
Is 10 seconds that much of an annoyance to you? Yes. A lot of people like quiet pc's hence the reason they probably went with a sealed water cooling unit in the first place.
