tangosmango
I have my headset plugged in the back connections and my speakers in the front. When my speakers are plugged in the front, my speakers will crackling/pop when some bass kicks in. Any reason? I checked to see if maybe the header wasn't on properly, but everything looked fine. If I plug my headset into the front, my buddies tell me I get A LOT of background/static noise from my headset. So that options didn't work out either. So given the two scenarios, I'm thinking it's the whole front panel that is perhaps faulty? However, the USB 3.0 plugs, power button, reset, light switch all work fine. Any ideas? Thanks for any information provided! Spec: 500r case Z87 Extreme4 Crucial Ballistics 8gig GTX 770 2gb Windows 7x64 i5-4670k
tangosmango
I went into the sound setting and turned on 'Loudness Equalization' and the crackling is completely gone but sacrificed some of the sound quality.
peanutz94
Use the link on the left to request an rma for the case and explain that you need just the front I/O panel and they should be able to ship you just that part.
tangosmango
Hey guys, I just got my replacement panel and everything seems to be working on initial tests. Will do some more with more music, skype, etc. There is a problem though, I wasn't able to fit the fan controller slider well and when I tried to push it down, it actually broke =(. So now I don't have a controller for the front fans. I wouldn't mind it at all if there was another way to control the fans perhaps via program or some sort. Thanks again! Thanks again! have you tried controlling your fans from your m/b? i have a 500r and never used the case controller but if the m/b isnt a option then a add on fan controller is another option... GrahamB
I have been told that the 500R fans are non standard (apart from the rear exhaust) they are 3 pin but those are 12v, ground and 1 LED 12v which is not compatible with any MB fan port. tangosmango
Hey guys fellas, I don't think the problem was ever resolved with the new panel. During certain songs (to be exact, 3:48 and onward with the bass) the crackling gets really bad. Same thing when I plug my headset in, after a while, my buddies tell me on Skype that my static noise gets pretty loud (I then tap my mic and the static apparently goes away). Could it possibly be my motherboard and not the case? tangosmango
Ugh, this is really frustrating. I shut down PC and secured the connection (for about the 5th time now haha) and I'm playing the exact same song from the same link and no crackling. Now, a few days later (or even several hours), this or another song will give crackling. I'm really confused as to what's causing this.
