Corsair is still selling the cooling kit

Please explain to us Ram Guy why Corsair is still selling the cooling kit when Corsair has announced that it is EOL and that you can't ever get another cooling node by itself?

It seems to me that Corsair is just trying to get rid of their existing stock at our expense.

Will Corsair continue to support the Cooling kit and if not, why are you still selling it then?

We have already explained that, sorry but it is fairly straight forward the Cooling node is no longer available as a single item. But Corsair Link is still available and we will continue to support any product we have sold to the best of our ability. At this time there is nothing more we can add.

And Please do not spam other threads with these questions that will get you moderated...

Guys, I never said we are dropping the Link line of products, it is just the cooling node was ended and no more will be made. And we will still support them for the life of the warranty.

So there is nothing to worry about.

We have not given up on it. We are working on a second generation version and are no longer going to be selling the first generation.

The feedback gathered here is DIRECTLY responsible for the feature set of the second generation Corsair Link hardware.

We are not canceling Corsair Link - it offers a real, tangible benefit to users. We're just making things better.

Until we have more information on what is coming please do not assume anything...

Ram Guy,

Ok, I will ask my questions in this thread. How about that?

Oh and I did read that thread you referred to and even posted in it. You have actually changed what you said in that thread. Your first statement was "we will continue to support the Link for the remainder of it's warranty" or something close to that. Now you are saying you will support it "to the best of your ability"

Does "the best of your ability" include replacing a bricked cooling node from a bad firmware update? If there are no more nodes available, what are you going to replace it with or do you have a stash set aside for RMAs which is something that other companies like EVGA does?

Please correct me if I am wrong here but it sounds like Corsair is hanging us out to dry. At least it feels that way.

The cooling node as it is now is EOL. That is a fact that has been stated by several of you from Corsair.

The cooling nodes are no longer available individually (that I can buy myself) that has also been stated by yourself and others so I can't even buy one to replace my bad one at my own cost if I wanted to.

The fact is, that I have spoken to some others here and have been told by them that there are no more nodes available to replace any failed units as told to by your support dept. Can you please clarify this for us? I will confirm this for myself when I call your RMA dept. this week to try to RMA my bricked node but it would be nice to hear it from you.

So what kind of support will Corsair (to the best of your ability) actually give us, the cooling node owners? Are you going to still try to get the software to work or will you stop trying to do that once the last warranty runs out for the last Link cooling kit buyer? What if someone bought the Link cooling kit and only needed one node but it fails somewhere down the road. Will they be able to get an RMA replacement or will the whole thing be rendered useless then? This is really important to know don't you agree since you are still selling the Link Cooling kits.

All I am trying to do is to get honest answers to honest questions. Just today someone over at the EVGA forums posted a question asking how he can control his fan speeds based on his CPU temps. The Link would be the perfect answer for him if it actually worked for the vast majority of us. Since I have had a bad experience with it and the cooling node is EOL'd I had to clearly state to him to NOT TO BUY THE LINK.

Maybe Corsair's next try will work better but I suggest waiting a very long time and read all of the reviews thoroughly before considering trying it out.

Please, if you don't actually work for Corsair then don't answer these questions for them. Someone from Corsair needs to explain to us what we, the original cooling kit owners, can expect going forward. What does "the best of our ability "really mean? Are there going to be cooling nodes available for RMAs? Is the software going to be updated and improved or is what we have it forever? I believe the latest version is actually a Beta, will we ever get a real version?

What has been stated so far has been vague at best. All I do know is that the Link cooling kit is EOL which I think means we are SOL.

I agree, fairly standard practice and have no problems with that. However it would be nice to have some (non binding) idea along with that announcement of when version 2 will be available and what the major differences will be. Along with reassurances on future compatibility, i.e. it will be possible to run version 1 and version 2 on the same link commander. And at what point will people buying the full kit be entitled to a free upgrade. Just a bit of reassurance really.
