rottenpunk
This is my second replacement K95 with a broken stabilizer beneath the left shift key. The key is incredibly hard to actuate on the left side of the key. Again. Upon taking the key cap off, I noticed the stabilizer switch on that side of the key was loose and rattling around. Again. homestyle
is the left stabilizer switch noticeably different/broken from the right stabilizer switch in the left shift key?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 13, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 13, 2013 This is my second replacement K95 with a broken stabilizer beneath the left shift key. The key is incredibly hard to actuate on the left side of the key. Again. Upon taking the key cap off, I noticed the stabilizer switch on that side of the key was loose and rattling around. Again. I am sorry to hear. Go ahead and submit a RMA and i will have a prepaid label request for you as well. If it's broken, the only we can do is to replace to unit for you. Please post your RMA number here once you have done so.
oysta1109
im having some problem with my k95. all the keys are fine but only the left shift key makes a click sound when pressed. im wondering if this is normal. its rather odd to have 1 key behaving like that. Toasted
I don't think that is normal. Have you tried removing and putting the key back on? Does it help?
oysta1109
Tried that, I'm having the same issue here the switch itself doesn't makes any click sound. I'm guessing too its the stabilizers beside the switches. So i take it its not normal, i will be taking it back to the retailer for an exchange i guess. Apart from that im very impressed with the product and purchased a m95 mouse as well.
Weaver2
I just got a K70 and my left shift key is having the exact same issue in the exact same spot. The RIGHT side of the left shift key presses down smoothly. The left side catches the stabilizer and requires a lot of force to press down (like, much more force than pressing down a cherry blue would require). Having the key popped off it seems the left stabilizer isn't straight. It's on a very slight angle, but that's enough it seems. Thus what's happening is when you press the left side of the left shift button down it's got to "pop" into place with the hole on the key, if that makes any sense. Sorry if I'm not using the right terminology. I'll RMA it if I have to, but I'd rather just try and straighten it out myself, especially with how much the RMA is going to end up costing me being in Canada ... but I think that would void my warranty. The right shift button is smooth as expected. Shame I couldn't just swap the stabilizer around... I rarely ever use the right shift button :P. Toasted
@Weaver2 and oysta1109 If you want to try straighten the stabilizer, that is up to you. It might be a easy fix without the need for exchanging it or RMAing it. But remember to do it carefully as your warranty will void if you damage it.
