Biroc
I recently purchased a Carbide Series 400R case and was considering purchasing the H110 cooler, but after doing a bit of poking around it looks like it won't fit if you're using three of the new Z87 boards from ASUS: the Z87-Pro, Z87-Deluxe, and Z87-Expert. They all have a huge heatsink in the way by nearly 1/2". The Z87-A and Z87-Plus have a shorter heatsink in this spot, so it may not be an issue with them. Do all of the Corsair mid-towers have the same amount of clearance on the top where you'd mount the H110? If there's no way to use this case with my motherboard and a radiator/dual fan like the H110, a single-fan liquid cooler like the H90 would probably fit, but I don't know if it would be adequate for overclocking a 4770. peanutz94
The H110 won't fit in that case no matter the MB. It can only use the H100 or 100i. or a double 120mm rad. A double 140 won't fit. And depending on the board you may only be able to use one set of fans vs a P/P set-up. Which really isn't a big deal because P/P is only good for an extra 2-5c anyway. Biroc
Oh, the H100 is thinner? I didn't realize that, I just assumed the H110 was an incremental upgrade from the H100 and overall dimensions were unchanged.
wytnyt
if you decide on the h90 then itll keep things cool for you and can go for a 4.2 oc without any issues and still have a decent safety net for temps but of course the h100i will perform better overall
Biroc
Cool, I'll give the H100i a shot. The specs say it's only 2mm thinner than an H110, but if I still have clearance issues I'll buy a thinner fan for that side or use a slightly smaller fan that clears the heatsink. The effectiveness of the radiator should still be on par or better than an H80i.
peanutz94
It's not thickness that is the problem but your other dimentions. The H110 is 140mm wide and 280mm long. The H100i is only 120mm wide and 240mm long. Thats the part that won't fit! :)

Biroc
Uh oh, I didn't even think about that peanutz! Duh! I should've realized that when I saw only a 2mm difference in thickness to the H110. So 140mm vs. 120mm would mean it would give me an additional 10mm of clearance on each side, which is nearly a half inch, which is what I've been hearing was the amount of interference! *slaps self* Even then though, it would probably be a tight fit. Well I ended up returning the case today because by the time the H100i shows up and the off chance found it didn't fit, I'd be past the time I could return the case. I still needed to buy a copy of Windows for my build so I exchanged for that. I didn't realize until today that the 400R doesn't have a fan controller, I'm thinking that would be nice. Anyone have a recommendation? 600T maybe?
