Ex0ticViru5
I received my AX1200i 1st replacement yesterday... it still emits a continuous electrical high pitch noise but a faint one compared to first one... It's annoying and shouldn't be there or noticable. I can hear it over my case fans even with or without my side panel on. Could it be a bad batch or something ? What's wrong with the Corsair i series ? First it was my h100i and now the ax1200i... My other components are not to blame, I had a HX850 and a H100 and they were working perfectly just before I switched for the i series, then I started to have problems... I really wasn't expected this from your flagship products. I'm very desapointed in the quality of your products lately, it's far from what it used to be with your older products. I feel like these products were rushed or poorly built by chinese people who don't care about their job or customer satisfaction. I'm a Corsair fan but not im starting to lose faith in your company because of the nightmare i'm living right now with your flawed products. Ex0ticViru5
well then I lose the hope that the problem can be solved then I would ask for a refund of my purchase would be the best option in this case You can try to RMA your PSU at least one time to see how it goes. If it still buzz and that you don't want to RMA it a second time, just ask for a refund and go with another brand. Maybe you will be luckier than I am right now.. Ex0ticViru5
ATs it has to be something on your side is all I can say the units you have sent back all have passed our testing. And do not display a Buzzing sound at 220 Volts or at 110 Volts. Even up to 260 Volts. However at 1200 Watts they will not be totally quiet and will have some noise associated with them. And if you do not want to post the RMA# I am sorry there is nothing I can do. Testing a PSU on a bench test might give different results than a PSU in an actual pc connected to a motherboard and a graphic card ... What kind of noise you're talking about that are associated with them ? These PSU's are supposed to be quiet on normal operations like advertised on the box...Coil whine noise isn't supposed to be part of the deal. I'm pretty sure the problem is that the PSU's are poorly assembled in China and the quality control sucks over there. 99.9% of the time, anything that comes out from China is junk anyway, everybody knows that. You should tell them to atleast put more hot glue on their coils so that would help to fix this coil whine issue. By the way, I replied to your post in another thread about my last RMA informations... I'm on my 3rd replacement now, it's quieter but it still emit an annoying continuous buzzing noise. Please do something about it, i'm starting to lose all my patience, it's really whatever. Corsair seems to have been going downhill with the AXi Series... Ex0ticViru5
ATS According to the information I have found we have never replaced a PSU for you directly and the last RMA was never processed because we never received a PSU from you. My two first RMA's were with Newegg, the third one is with Corsair and I ended up with the same results. The delay is because I asked for an express RMA, that's why I had to wait until i receive the replacement before sending the other unit back. Plus, my replacement had to be tested by Kelvin so it took more time than it was supposed to because he was apparently on vacation. I shipped the PSU yesterday with the UPS pre-paid label that Jelaide sent me 2 weeks ago. It's on the way as we speak, if you want the tracking number, let me know. Now that doesn't fix my issue.. i'm still stuck with a ''tested'' replacement PSU that emits an electrical buzzing noise a.k.a. coil whine. Ex0ticViru5
RAM GUY, i'm not sure if your question was for me or ATS. I'm kind of confused but anyway, you know what my situation is right now.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 6, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 6, 2013 I split your post to its own thread that thread was ATS and who I was answering. What was your Last RMA number with us? But I would have to say the same thing as was stated with ATS especially if we tested the PSU here before it was sent to you there has to be some other cause. Are you using a battery-back-up or APC? Or any type of line/Voltage conditioner?

Or any type of line/Voltage conditioner? You already asked me that question in another thread. I copied/pasted what I posted. I'm only using a standard power surge protector, no UPS. My previous PSU was a HX850 that I've used for almost 5 years without any issues. It was also dead silent, never had any kind of coil whine noise. The electrical noise (coil whine) issue only started when I've the swapped from my HX850 for an AX1200i. The PSU has even been tested by Kelvin before you sent it to me. I've been told that there was no noise. Maybe the coil whine only happens when the PSU is connected to an actual motherboard and not on the PSU test bench you're using. The cause might be the lack of glue on the coils that prevent them from vibrating, bad capacitors, etc. I love Corsair but i'm on my 3rd replacement and the problem is still there... If the issue can't be solved, I will have no choice but to change brand even if I don't want to... Anyway, here's my last RMA# 6081813.
Ex0ticViru5
RAM GUY, what are my options now ? Do you think I should keep RMAing until I find an AX1200i that doesn't have coil whine ? If not, what are your suggestions  I'm getting really desperated...
Ex0ticViru5
I've also did a couple of self-tests without any cables connected to the PSU. The buzzing noise still can be heard even if I don't block the fan. So the culprit is definitely the PSU. Anyway, It doesn't surprise me because I was sure already that the problem was the PSU and now I have the confirmation. Everything was fine just before I changed my HX850 for an AX1200i. What surprises me though, is the fact that my 3rd replacement still buzz like the 2 previous one. Well to be honest, it doesn't surprises me that much because it well known that things built in China are junk.
