dingusxp
So I recently bought a Corsair H110 from NCIX, but the temperatures still seem to be the same as when I had my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus. I decided to ask my friend with similar specs what his temperatures were, and they were pretty much about the same. He is also using a Hyper 212 Plus. Is this normal, or is the product I received defective? The pump is connected to the PWM header on my motherboard while the two fans are connected to the CPUFAN 1 and 2 headers. The fans are taking air in from the top. I get 40C while idle at 4.4GHz and around 80C while stress testing on Prime95.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 3, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 3, 2013 What is the Room Temp? And what CPU?
dingusxp
Room temperature was about 23C maybe. And I'm ocing an i5 3570k. My friend also has the same processor and doesn't live too far, so his ambient temp should be around mine.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 9, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 9, 2013 Its not out of line but it is warmer than I would expect. I would check the fans and airflow and check the inside case temp as you may have to move some fans around to get better case cooling.
dingusxp
Thanks for the response, I'm pretty paranoid about this thing because of how much I spent on it haha. I've noticed that my pump however, has started making noises today. I am aware that pumps should make some noise, but this sounds sort of like gurgling noise. I'm not sure if it's an air bubble or the pump going bad, but it's kind of audible. I will post a video of the sound soon, hopefully it will be good enough. peanutz94
Gurgling isn't out of the ordinary for a WC unit. It should work itself out eventually . You might even try laying the case down or at an angle to help work out any trapped air.
dingusxp
Alright, I finally got a video of it: click here Thanks for the help guys! Hope I don't have to RMA it or anything, I've tilted my PC, but it still kept making the sound after awhile.
peanutz94
I listened to your video and I can't hear anything out of the norm. You have to put the camera real close before i could hear it and thats with my volume turned all the way up.
dingusxp
Alright then, guess everything is fine then and hopefully stays this way. Sorry for the paranoia. Thanks for confirming.
peanutz94
They are not completely silent. They will make a slight hum or buzz. Thats pretty much what I hear with your unit. What you hear may be totally different. If it sounds louder than the rest of your system, then have it replaced. Otherwise, if you need to get real close to hear it, then that would be normal.
