Spilled water on my K70, what should I do?

I just spilled a glass of water on my new K70 keyboard. The computer wasn't on when I spilled and I'm assuming that is probably a good thing. I basically dried it out as best I could and then turned it upside down on a towel. Is there anything else I should do? Maybe try taking it apart and drying the inside? How long should I wait before trying to use it? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Good thing it was just water. That won't really leave anything behind that will cause issues.

How much water and how quickly did you react in drying and turning?

You can use a blow-dryer if you have one to try and speed up the process, but as a veteran of watering the keyboard myself, I find a vacuum can also do a sufficient job.

If it wasn't much water you can pretty much use it after air drying and letting it sit for an hour. If it was a lot I'd leave it fora day myself or take it apart for a more thorough drying.

I've done it a few times on 2 keyboards and neither stopped working. Though I don't have experience with Corsairs.

Thanks for the quick response. It looked like the majority of the water was on the desk but there was still a decent amount on the top of the keyboard. It took me maybe 1-2 min to dry to outside and then flip it where I currently have it. I'm thinking it might be best to let it sit for a day. I have a cheap backup that will get me through the day.

I would leave it to fry for more than a day. Probably around 4-7 days or more.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm thinking I'll give it a couple days. I'm thinking since it wasn't on when I spilled, as long as I wait until it's completely dry I should be alright. I don't want to power it up too soon and have it short out or something. I was thinking about taking it apart but after a bit of research, that appears to be quite the project.

In case anybody else has a similar problem, everything appears to be working fine now. I gave it about 48 hours to dry out upside down (figured this would be enough because the air in our house is pretty dry). Not sure if this is the exact protocol but it seemed to work for me.

I know you got yours working again but i thought I would just note something i saw in a different thread.

one note of caution about using hair dryers,

use low heat and probably a good idea not to use continuously. Some other guy posted in a thread saying that his brother spilled water on his keyboard and tried to dry it out with a hair dryer and ended up melting a bunch of the keys.
