Malcolm900
Is there anyway to lower the PWM fan's control to less than 40% I am using 25 Corsair SP120 PWM quiet edition fans connected to 5 cooling nodes and was wondering if it's possible to lower their RPM to less than 400RPM At the moment I have them all set to 500RPM and they are running at between 400 - 500 RPM. the fixed % setting won't go below 40%. I can set the fixed RPM to 300RPM only issue is that the fans don't drop bellow 400RPM Also Would be useful also if the corsair link software could allow fan's to be turned off as I don't need them all running all the time. I know that some fan controller's allow this feature for PWM fan's.
wytnyt
the fans cant be fully turned off and any fan that runs below 600 or so rpm may/will fault and need a reset.meaning the link may stop regulating it and in order to begin monitoring it will spin that fan up again to continue its regulating. How do you turn off a fan?

Sottti
You cannot turn off a fan. Sorry, my fault. I read too fast.

So does this mean that the corsair link software doesn't allow the fans to go below 600RPM? or the Corsair SP120 quiet edition PWM fans to spin below 600RPM? If it can't go below 600RPM does it mean that the software is showing the SP120 fans as spinning at between 400 - 500RPM and their actual rotational speed is closer to 600RPM? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 27, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 27, 2013 If a fan drops bellow a certain point the software has been limited by default because if the fan spins to slow and turns off it cannot be restarted with out rebooting the system. Thank ram guy. Personally I would have like higher margins to control the fans with. Or higher fine turning of the fans to run them at quieter levels. Example of what I was looking for. The other fan controller I have I find if the voltage goes to low the fans stop. I reboot the system and then set the fan at the point before it stopped. Then I Just leave these fans as they are. In my old PC Build The other example I have is I used to use a Zalman fan mate 3pin fan controller. I found that if I set this to the lowest setting the fan's would not turn on when I turned my PC on. However if turned the fan controller to max then to min quickly they would spin. The fan I had connected won't start at 5v but could run at 5v I could turn the dial on the fan mate to 11v then for a few seconds then back to 5v the fan would still spin. I possibly have my expectation's too high for what I was hopping to achieve from the cooling nodes and Corsair link software.
