Angel Rat
Hello, I was wondering why every time I shut down the link software it asks me to save the profile or not? even if I have made no changes to the saved profile it still asks... nothing more than a bit of annoyance but I had it set to start with windows and minimize to the taskbar. if it is in your taskbar and you attempt a restart of the machine without first closing it out windows then halts and then prompts you to shut down or force shut down of the running program. you then have to cancel and then open the corsairlink in the taskbar, exit it and deal with its save profile prompts (even though no changes were made) and after the program is shut down then you can do a normal reboot. windows has no problems automatically shutting down other programs in the taskbar upon reboot... then again they do not prompt you to save a profile you didn't modify. As I've said... a minor annoyance which only made my untick the start with windows option. any fix?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 22, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 22, 2013 When you changed to the new version did you follow these steps? Please remove any saved profiles and then reset to default and close Corsair Link and do not saved anything on exit. Then go to Programs and features and uninstall the Corsair Link software and then uninstall Corsair USB dongle and restart Windows. Then down load Corsair Link Software Update Beta Version 2.4.4948 to a directory on your HDD not to the desktop and then right click on the install file and run as an administrator. Angel Rat
yes, followed the steps and went a step further to unhide folders in "folder options" in windows... navigated to app data local and roaming plus program files then deleted any corsair folders (I think 2 or 3) which I found. I don't believe I need the USB Dongle driver? as I am running from a motherboard header... and this is the only Corsair product I have running besides the 1866 Vengeance 16GB kit. The memory is not Dominator so it is not interfaced with the Link software.
JKeifer
I am using the 4998 beta and find that if I try and manually close Corsair Link via the "X" in the upper right hand corner, the application always asks if I want to save the profile even though I've done nothing to suggest I need a "save". If I let Windows 7 close the application when I turn off the machine, Corsair Link shuts down without asking to save the profile.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 24, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 24, 2013 Yes you need the MB USB controller drivers installed and the Corsair USB dongle or it will not work. Some MB's have the On Board USB 2.0 Headers as part of the USB 3.0 Controller.
