JASE-DK
Just bought and installed an AX760i. The PSU works fine but it makes a faint but noticeable "click" noise every 12 seconds. It's definetly not coil whine. It sound more like thermal expansion from one of the internal components – kind of a metallic sound. I had the PSU replaced by RMA but the new one makes the exact same sound. I am certain that the sound comes from the PSU. It goes “click” … 12 seconds silence … “click” … 12 seconds of silence … “click” … etc. Anyone else experienced this with their AX PSU?
Faithh07
Yes, I do. Corsair doesn't seem to wanting to fix this. Just set the fan at a fixed speed in Corsair link, should do it.
BlondeMaid
Hi, I just installed a brand new 760i and found just what you described. I am running a passive build so there is absolutely no noise in the case except for the faint but annoying "clicking sound" of the PSU every 12 seconds! Actually I deliberately bought the 760i to have a silent PSU with my otherwise noiseless hardware! I was wondering, did you find any solution to the problem? Thanks

I have corsair ax1200i psu.. ı have same issue like yours . ı tryed 4 ax1200i but has no change . issue still there. this issue cause by corsair. because corsair didnt psu maker. and quality control weak. if corsair make this psu own fab or desing own .there is no issue . so corsair dont put customer be fool. your product more expensive than competitor. but no diffence. your digital link FAIL. YOU cant stabil software .. but still sell more expensive . because hardware reviewer cooperating for you. And inflation advertisiment
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted January 12, 2015 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 12, 2015 Well... This is hardly a quality control issue if ALL of them make the noise. Right? I think the real question here is WHY is it making the noise. Or, more specifically, WHAT inside the PSU is making this noise instead of spiraling into conspiracy theories. I'll make sure an engineer sees this thread so they can investigate. The fan has a built in obstruction check. Every 12 seconds or so, the fan "twitches" to make sure it's not blocked. If the fan doesn't twitch, the PSU assumes that the fan must be blocked and the unit shuts down. Just like Faithh07 said: If you want to circumvent this feature, go into Link and set your PSU fan speed to 40% PWM (the lowest speed). Otherwise, the fan's going to twitch every 12 seconds. FWIW: The HXi series DOES NOT have a fan with an obstruction check.
