rbosse
I'm looking for rubber grommets that go above the motherboard... Do you happen to know if you will ever sell these? http://i.imgur.com/5gzBOzd.jpg
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 19, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 19, 2013 We don't have this at the moment but I'll pass this along to the product manager. If there's enough demands, maybe we'll make them :)
halok
I definitely would want those, too (plus those indicated below) - and while you're at discussing supply parts, please add a mountable mid-plate to seperate the top case part from the lower PSU-part (including grommets or possibilites to mount water cooling tubing). Lady Fitzgerald
If your Dremel skills are good enough, you could enlarge the two larger holes slightly and use any large Corsair grommet, such as the ones used in the rest of the case (I've found many parts, such as grommets, are used in multiple cases). Looking online and taking a SWAG (Scientific Wild A$$ Guess), it appears the hole length is close enough but a bit more width is needed. For the four smaller holes on top, get the measurements and go to your local computer parts retailer (if there is one near you) and see if the grommets from another corsair or other brand case will fit or is only a bit too large (in which case, it's Dremel time again). The long, skinny one is going to be a real stinker. I solved a similar problem with a different brand case by getting two shorter grommets that were a bit wider but would fit at both ends in the same hole otherwise with only a small gap between them, Dremelling out the width where needed to allow the grommets to fit at each end, then cut a piece of plastic to fit between the grommets to fill in the remaining hole. I secured the plastic piece with a small piece of aluminum tape on both sides. Once painted to match, the added piece is barely noticeable You might get lucky and be able to find grommets that fit closely enough end to end to allow the grommets to hold the filler piece in). Again, from eyeballing pictures online, it appears the width of that long skinny hole isn't very much wider than the four small holes up top so you might get lucky and be able to use the same grommets in all the empty holes with a bit of creativity. Just from a quick look at the parts list here, I would suggest first looking at the 350D (has a couple of skinny grommets) or the 700D and 800D (has two sized grommets, the smaller of which might be close enough for the smaller holes and the skinny one and the larger one might fit the two bigger ones) before moving on to other brands. halok
Hey! Thanks for your answer! Sorry I only got around now to answer. I unfortunately don't own a dremel. And aside from maybe being able to mod the case in any way, I'd like not to void my warranty just yet (in case something else goes wrong installing components). But I may consider, if Corsair states they will not supply any accessory parts (i.e. grommets) for this case.

But I may consider, if Corsair states they will not supply any accessory parts (i.e. grommets) for this case. If you don't have to remove too much metal to make room for grommets, you can do the job just with files. Just yesterday, I increased the diameter of the hole I made in the front of my new 650D for a different 200mm fan. I goofed when I made the hole where the grill used to be by using a Dremel tool and cutting bit in a circle cutting jig; I forgot to allow for the rubber u-channel that was to go over the edge of the hole. Since I had no center hole anymore for the circle cutting jig and my old hands just aren't very strong or steady enough anymore to use a Dremel freehand, I opted to remove the extra 1/8" of steel around the hole by filing mostly with a 10" half-round file. It didn't take all that long, even with frequent breaks to rest my old carcass (I'm about to turn 65).
steinberg5
I really wish Corsair would put grommets on all of the openings. Even if it was just rubber around the outer edges i would be pleased. Something to think about.

Something to think about. If all you want is rubber around outer edges, just get some rubber U-channel like this: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/3035/mol-01/C-Strip_Rubber_Fan_Window_Molding.html?id=LNE8UT6C

Pianosdr
Agreed with other posters here asking for grommets for the holes above the mobo as well as a bottom partition panel separating the upper and lower chambers. To be honest, I don't know why Corsair wouldn't already be including the additional few grommets. Corsair clearly recognizes the purpose and need for grommeting the other holes, so why not these particular holes? There are several wires that connect to the top of the mobo that should route through these holes for just about every build, so it's not as though they're optional. Regarding the request for a bottom panel that would separate the upper chamber from the lower, this would be ideal. This is where my rat's nest of unsightly cables and tubes resides in most of my builds, and the first thing I thought when I saw the 900D was, "Why wouldn't they partition this?" Especially when Corsair already did this with the 800D. Great case though, so I still applaud Corsair, though I also have a minor beef with the small pins that hold the drive cage doors to the frames. Those pins come out VERY easily, and it's a pain to get them back in...
