sadus
Hi, I have Graphite 600T white eddiotion Case since it came out and now I wanna change it to custom build desk with PC build in in the top. I did some research online and found this: http://www.redharbinger.com/newsite/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/blackdesk_full.jpg My PC looks like this: http://vpx.pl/i/2013/08/16/SNC14382.jpg I have new GPU already since I took this picture. My dest will be made of wood harmless against any cracks or somethink that high temp can make painted with white thermo resistant paint. Not sure how to secure the mobo and other components... Shall I just cut my "old" case or can anyone help me with my project ? I am thinking about watercooling my CPU only and in near future get watercooled GPU and add it. Or just wait a bit longer and do it in one go ? Having CPU only watercooled I am thinking to make 1x 120mm fan on the side to let some air in and other one on the other side to take all the warm air out of my desk or shall I make it 2 fans on bouth sides ? I want the build to be as quiet as possible as I have little baby at home and my current 600T with 7 funs running is not the quieter stuff I have :sigh!:
WesternDreaming
hrm, i prefer the loop to be done when all the parts have been chosen and installed try finding fans with less than 30 dbs of noise it should be almost inaudible dont use the case, create your own brackets desks are not made for ai rcirculation, u may need to have a few fans on each side to create the positive pressure you need to keep your components clean and dust free

About the noise all fans I have are (were) onder 30db but now after 2y running for long time they are not anymore :[pouts: I will try to make as clean and flat surfaces as possible to make it easier and I will see how dusty it gets through the glass ;): About the hardware ... watercooled GPU are around £1k what I found in internet and that's a bit too much for me to spend on 1 part :eyebuldge I have NV 650 but not sure if it can be waretcooled yet. Need to find it out. Incase of build problems I can place some peace of metal as "floor". Not sure yet. I'm just making 1st plans what will be best in this project. wytnyt
if theres ample room, you can recess the fans in several inches using a shroud and this will let the case absorb fan noise yet keep your airflow...
sadus
I just removed all my PC stuff from the case and it's on my desk. Connected all fans and they all are quiet. Looks like case is resonating with the vibrations.
wytnyt
you wont likely hear a noise by free running them, they will need to be mounted.you can run them and hold them and feel if theres an abnormal vibration...
sadus
I was holding them in my hand and they were steady so should be fine. I have 3 days long weekend now so I will remove all plastic parts from the case and try to find the problem. I really like to have quiet PC if not silence one :P
