Lavarider
Around three weeks ago, I bought a Corsair TX750 PSU, which I was forced to exchange for another because of a high-pitched coil whine that gave me headaches. The replacement did not whine, but instead roared like a jet engine because its fan was stuck on 100% 24/7. Corsair instructed me to RMA the faulty replacement. I just received the third supply today and installed it in my machine. I don't know if I am having bad luck with the TX750 series or if this is a flaw in the entire line, but the third supply is making the pitched coil whine AGAIN. It is getting worse over time as I use the PSU, and is starting to give me a small headache even as I type this message. My old Raidmax 630 did not have this issue, and my BIOS has none of the power settings active that the "Noisy Power Supply" post in the forums suggested may be the culprit. When tested using a jumper without connections to my system, it still whines, although the whine is quieter. Am I going to be able to acquire a TX750 from Corsair that does not sound like a dog whistle in my head the whole time I use it or should I just move to a different PSU? Lavarider
If I knew the answer to my question, I wouldn't be bothering to post it here. The question was directed at a Corsair representative anyway.
