Should I notice immediate results?

Hello,

I just bought an installed the H60, and I'm not noticing anything different than

the stock cooler. I'm idling around 34 C.

Did I do something wrong? I'm assuming the pump is working, the fan is, otherwise things would be getting real hot fast, right?

Is there a break-in period? Thank you.

Thank you for the replies.

I ran Prime95 for about 20 minutes and my temps were between 58-62 C.

Using SpeedFan I've noticed that the RPMs for what I'm fairly certain are the pump read 4500 RPM. I have the fan set to kick on %100 at 50 C.

I'm planning on overclocking this chip, because quite frankly that's what it was made for, but I'm worried about these temps, they seem high to me given the cooler.

Geforce 560 Ti Boost

16 GB Ram

Windows 7 Home Premium

your h60 is basically a water cooled replacement to air cooling and really isnt intended to do major overclocking with.

your temps are very good and will handle some ocing but their gonna go higher .the h100i is much better for moderate ocing but even then many things come into play that controls heat.

I wasn't thinking major, maybe 4.4 or 4.5, I've heard that you don't necessary need to change voltages and can get that high with this chip.

I took it apart and noticed the thermal paste was only covering 3/4 of the chip, I cleaned it all and replaced it with some Artic. Now I guess I will use normally for a few weeks and run some more test.

4.4 -4.5 isnt a major OC for a 3570k?

and you wont change voltages?

egad chap!

imo if you can get to 4.2g on stock and temps stay under 85

you are doing well for yourself

as soon as you hit 4.3 i would run the intel burn test for a few hours before i would breathe easy

just an imo from someone with your chip in a system right now

And with an overclock that high your going to need something bigger than the H60. It's just not designed for OC's that high.

For what its worth, I have been running a 3570k @ 4.3ghz since February with zero issues on an older model H60, and it gets used pretty heavily every day. I did discard the fan it came with and replaced it with two Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition High Static Pressure 120mm Fans in a push-pull configuration.

Nice, what types of temperatures are you getting, idle and under load?
