MikelMolto
I hate it that the Fan from my new TX650 always start and stop. I think that it starts with internal 49C and stop with less then 45C. A Fan what would always run at a low speed and if it get warmer speed up is for me a much better solution. In many cases this kind of Fan even would not speed up because there is a basic cooling and the whole thing could be very quite. The next time I buy a new PSU I will choose something what is better designed.
peanutz94
The new PSU's are much more efficient than previous generations. They don't "need " a fan to run all the time...
kredes
i totally agree on this.. it's really frustrating to hear, your PSU suddenly going up on 100% fan speed for 3-4 seconds, then going quiet again, then a minute or something later, it goes to 100% again... maybe they don't need the fan to be running all the time, but this loud fan sound isn't better. First i thought there was something wrong with my new PSU..
peanutz94
If your fan is acting like that then no, they aren't supposed to run like that. They should only ramp up when needed and slow back down to a stop once cool. But every few seconds isn't normal. I would go ahead and have it replaced if you wanted to. The TX series is supposed to be pretty quiet.
kredes
so, it's not normal? mines does it every 2 mins or something, when it runs at load in games.. but never in idle or when the GPU isn't at high load. EDIT: it couldn't be something with my GPU, running very hot so it needs a lot of power? im so tired of RMA :S this is the second time im gonna send it to RMA then, wtf is wrong with corsairs PSU's
peanutz94
Sure, it should run in games or anytime it's under load. But it shouldn't kick on and off so fast like that . EDIT: it couldn't be something with my GPU, running very hot so it needs a lot of power? im so tired of RMA :S this is the second time im gonna send it to RMA then, wtf is wrong with corsairs PSU's If it's already been replaced once then you can contact CS by phone with your previous RMA number if you have it. They can probably look you up if you don't. But let them know this is the second RMA and you would like the shipping charges taken care of. You can even request an advanced replacement so you wont have any downtime other than what it takes to change it out.

Sorry, no it doesn't I assumed you had it replaced directly by Corsair previously. However, you might talk to CS about this and let them know you had it replaced once. They ,may still help you out. EDIT: now i have requested a new RMA, from the request RMA.. i hope they can make an advanced Once you get an RMA or case number you'll have to call CS by phone and ask them about an advanced replacement. But you will need to call for CC security reasons. Corsair is closed on the weekends so you probably won't get an an answer until Monday or would be able to call CS.
