RazzaG
So my 1500s are playing perfectly fine on my laptop but when I use them on my PC every sound is drowned out by crackling, anyone know the problem?
RazzaG
Right I'll put a lot more detail in here now; They used to work fine, I used them a year a go on this computer before I got my ASUS headphones, I wanted to try em again today and they worked perfectly on a laptop that has never used them before but had horrible crackling and popping on every sound on my computer. Solutions tried; Different USB Slot, Unplugging all USB devices before booting up, Disabling all non MS services in mconfig. Hardware changes; Like I said I've not used the headset in a year, some hardware changes since then was swapping my two 6850's for a 770 and a new Corsair K90 Keyboard, thats about it. Toasted
Are you using different driver versions? Have you checked your Equalizer settings?
RazzaG
Equalizer settings are the same, only difference in the Information tab of the drivers is the Audio Controller; same driver version, Audio Codec and headset version Edit: Tried with a different driver version and the problem was still their. The only thing left I can think of is a problem with the GPU drivers as its the only other significant change from when the headset worked perfectly, I'll unistall and driver sweep them and see if the problem is fixed. RazzaG
Tried the GPU and got rid of everything Audio related on it and the problem persists, I honestly don't even know what it could be at this point except the CPU Overclock. I usually wouldn't mind but its the fact they are so comfortable and sound so good on my laptop...
shankly1985
By any chance you running Intel Smart Response? SSD Caching? I had Audio issues with this.
JayceeCordova
Did you recently overclocked your system? because mine had cracking/hissing sound after I overclocked my system and when I switch back to default It was gone.
RazzaG
I'm not using an SSD, I reverted my overclock and the problem still persists... Note that my ASUS headset is still working fine on this PC but uses the 3.5mm jacks and not usb
