phillyman36
Hey for anyone with a 900D and a Corsair AX1200 psu is the case to tall for the psu cable to reach the top of the case to attach to a blu ray burner? Just wondering if I get the case and want to put a blu ray burner at the top 5.25 bay will I need some sort of extension?

Using the "long one", (850mm), SATA power cable, you'll be able to easily reach the top 5.25" bay. But why mar the beauty of this: http://imageshack.us/a/img13/9363/ermn.jpg ...with either the Blu-ray or the SATA cable. Pick up one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827993013 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817392031 ...and mount it under your desk, (out of sight.) I made some simple mounting rails out of aluminum angle: http://imageshack.us/a/img12/2229/uidy.jpg but you could just as easily use double-sided tape or Velcro. If you must mount the burner in the top bay, make a custom power cable with this: http://www.moddiy.com/products/Corsair-Style-5%252dConductor-Flat-Ribbon-Cable-Wire-%2822AWG-Black%29.html and some: http://www.moddiy.com/products/Corsair-HX-Series-PSU-6%252dPin-%28Peripheral-%26-SATA%29-Modular-Connector-w%7B47%7D-Pins-%252d-Black.html and http://www.moddiy.com/products/SATA-Power-Connector-%252d-Black.html

( ... cut ... ) Why did you place the AX1200i this way so the fan is showing inside your case? So its absorbing warm air from inside the case... if you tun your AX1200i so the fan is showing to the side door it is absorbing fresh air coming from outside... The fan doesn't run under normal use. 3. The rear of the case is against the wall, (although, now that I've added cable trays, there's ~3" of space), and I don't want to have to move the case to clean the filters. 4. I have 4 x 120mm fan pulling air from the windowed side, (and have relocated the HD cages to the top 2 mounts), so the interior is pretty close to ambient. squidman
I have both (900d) and ax1200 going to a dual-xeon board...and weeeelll.....it's tight as hell, to the point you don't really want to rma the board iff it doesn't work! Found that I'm running out of sata cables from the ps and other cables as well... It works, but just barely...those mobo power supplies are going to be a pain! But yes you can do it iff just barely! Just need to work on cable management! Again...once you organize and start with the zipties....and you actually get the 24 pin mobo ps cable up there (and for me the extra 2x eps cables!) wow you don't really want to go back! Had to hacksaw a standoff that looked a bit dodgy, absolute frign nightmare removing everything.... Having said that I love the case more than my dual xeons, etc etc...it is a thing of beauty...!!!
