qbite
Hey Guys, i got some problems with my new H80i. I got an i5 3750 and i get 50 degreece C° with stock clock... Does anyone know what to do? I'm pretty sure that i've done everything right during the installation.... my old aircooler was just 3C° bader than this one.... O.o And hell yea, ist very loud.... Cheers Tim from Germany!
Ukkooh
I got over 60°C with my 3770k @stock before delidding so your cooler might be completely fine. Edit: Forgot to mention that this was using a H100.
qbite
Hm, but i think that there's something wrong, i mean, if my old 35€ Air Cooler can nearly create the same temp...... realy? that just make no sense to me... O.o:confused::confused::confused: Is your's gettin also so freaking loud? Cheers Tim:biggrin:

I never ran it with the stock fans though so hard to comment on it. I'm using a H100i now and don't have any problems with noise.

qbite
Whoops sorry the same post again. lol. The Cpu test in 3dmark Vantage just offers a temp from ca. 73C°. But the Fans a so loud. i think i will buy other fans..... should be no problem or what do u mean? but what's still confusing me is the fact, that my air cooler isnt much bader than this watercooling system... :/ mybee anyone of u got an idea. at amazon germany i can ready that some guys got the same setup like me and got 32°C idle with 4,2ghz..... cant image how thats working.. btw, sorry for my bad english, hope u can understand me well enought to help me lol:D::D:
Ukkooh
73°C with that cooler and cpu @stock is worrying. Could you check your pump speed? You can check it with corsair link or from the bios. The pump speed shows as cpu fan rpm in the bios if you plugged it to the cpu fan header as you should have. Edit: That 32°C idle @4.2 is completely possible. I'm having around 30°C idle with 3770k @4.8Ghz.
qbite
Pump says 2242... with that softare from corsair. Okay, that its possible seems legid, but why in hell doesnt it work on my pc xD had an Cm v10 in my old build, that was nice hehe any other ideas? :)
Ukkooh
That pump rpm is ok. Is your mounting bracket installed as shown in this picture? Note the "dents" for the screws on the upper part. http://www.thinkcomputers.org/reviews/corsair_h80i/17.jpg
qbite
hm yes it is, BUT i had so put some washers between bracket and mb because the screews were to long. saw an video from a guy with the same problem on yt. so the cooler fits very well in my opinion. hers the link: had the same problem
stonehelm
MY idle temps are around 35-40c in a room with ambient temps of 20-25c, running stock clock speed on an 3770k. Liquid cooling performs better under load than air cooling, but these ivy bridge chips are hit and miss with the thermal interface under the heat spreader. I get temps of around 70-75c in prime95 running blend test after many hours.
stonehelm
As a reference my Clarkdale i7 with the stock intel box cooler sits around 60-65c running the same test.
stonehelm
Also the screws aren't too long, the washers may be causing the cold plate to be lifted off the cpu enough to get poor contact between thermal paste and IHS.

qbite
but i have to say that the bracked was very lose without the washers!
Ukkooh
I think the bracket is always loose before you mount the cooler on the cpu. At least this happened on my H100 and now H100i.
qbite
hm... so maybe the cooler dont fits right on the cpu. that would explain a lot. i'll give it a try tomorrow! thank's so far guys. btw. i orderd 2 new fans for the radiator. hope the disturbing noise will go away. :) i will post here if theres something new:D:
stonehelm
Indeed, the bracket is loose, once the standoffs are in it still has play, but when the thumb screws are tightened down, it clamps it to the board rather nicely.
qbite
So i gues i should remove the washers right?
wytnyt
So i gues i should remove the washers right? not really, some have used the washers ,it just tightens the backplate which makes it a little harder to align the block...
qbite
So i installed other fans to the radiator, now my temps are max 75°C at the first test of prime with 4,2Ghz. Seems to be okay or?!
