trasyd
Good evening mr Corsair, It's such a pity that my first post is full of negativity but here we go, so after all the fun and games with my H80i (im sure you all know about that one!) my PSU Has just died on me......I know this because when pulling out all the leads and pressing the test button it goes a nice red. Now I just spent money getting all the cables professionally tidied up hidden and wrapped so 3 days later the PSU can just die......furious, now I really do hope mr Corsair that you don't expect me to tear apart my pc to return these cables along with this PSU back to you!? Plus i hope im not expected to cover a costs of returning my PSU either?? I really don't think im being unreasonable here. I have spent a lot of very hard earned cash on corsair products and all i have to show for it is a semi working H80i and a broken VERY EXPENSIVE PSU. Please restore my faith and show me some good customer service. Thanks and goodnight, a very unsatisfied Corsair Customer.
peanutz94
trasyd, I'm sorry, but those questions need to be asked of CS. It would be best if you could call them and discuss this with them. You can find the number on the main website page top and bottom under company>contact And if you happen to be out of the US or overseas SKYPE makes it a free call from anywhere in the world. But generally you would need to send in all your cables to get proper credit for the RMA. I would seriously lok through your cables to make sure who ever you paid to tie up ytour cables did not accidentally cut a wire or short one out. It seems like too much of a coincidence. Thats just an observation and I'm not pointing fingers...but i would at least check them.
trasyd
Hey peanutz, Thanks for the reply, yeah I have sent a message to CS but I just wanted to tell the forums too. With no cables attached i get the red glow of death from the test button on the PSU so im pretty confident it's not the wiring. I really really hope i don't have to pull apart all of this cabling i don't get it. So frustrated...
peanutz94
With no cables attached i get the red glow of death from the test button on the PSU so im pretty confident it's not the wiring. What i was getting at is there was a short in one of the wires it could have caused the failure. Thats why said to check. That and as I said, after just having someone else do your cable management..then your PSU fails three days later. i would be looking ! IF Corsiar would let you keep your cables, (I really don't think they will, that policy changed last year,) i would hate to see you fry another PSU because of a bad wire. And that is a total possibility! At any rate as i said you need to call them on the phone to arrange the advanced replacement and shipping costs. They won't do it over emails or through the forums. trasyd
Ahh yes I see! Valid point, so annoying to have to tear it apart though. Ok Skype it is and lets see what CS have to say! Thanks for the advice peanutz.

trasyd
So after a few minutes on the phone to corsair i am getting an express RMA and should have a new PSU next week, what i am very disgruntled about is paying to send this faulty one to the Netherlands. Im the innocent party here and yet I have to spend my own cash sending it back. 7 year warranty sounds great unless your having to pay out £30 shipping a dead PSU back to the every 2 months!!!!!! My faith is failing somewhat.
trasyd
A quick question for those in the know how, so I booked this express RMA about 2pm pacific time on Friday, now is it possible to cancel this? Or would the item already have been sent out? Cheers
Administrators Technobeard Posted June 22, 2013 Administrators Share Posted June 22, 2013 Looks like your ticket is 6040956, correct? If so, it doesn't look like it's shipped yet. I'd recommend responding to it asking for the express RMA to be cancelled. Do you want to go with just a standard RMA, or have you RMA'd it with the store? trasyd
Hi technobeard, Yep that's my ticket, Well I was initially thinking id go to my local store but am now thinking if this second PSU blows at least i wouldn't have to pay to get it sent back to the Netherlands, so I think I'll stick with this ExpressRMA, what would you suggest? I'd like to think this second PSU wnt go wrong but what with my H80i having issues and now this PSU im a little nervous around corsair products at the mo! Thanks for replying! trasyd
I'd recommend sticking with the RMA. Thanks Mr thebeard! Yeah I'll stick with that then. Fingers crossed this next one lasts longer than 2 months! Still hoping i was just VERY unlucky. Regards.
trasyd
Technobeard, When I bought my H80i i was missing the rubber washers, now when I asked customer services about this they said to RMA the entire unit which I deem a little unfair as shipping costs to the Netherlands for me is about £30, obviously I won't do that for some little rubber washers! Is there anything you can do to get these to me or point me in the right direction as to who to speak in relation to this? I know its only rubber washers but id like to use them to minimise vibration etc and just to get what I've paid for to be honest! Thanks for any advice! Good grief! £30 to ship the cooler only so you get a few washers that weigh a few grams! If your H80i is new (< 30 days) I'd send it back to the dealer for an exchange. I had an option to send my PSU to Corsair but that would mean shipping it to HK, China coz I am in Asia. Shipping a 4 KG (9 lbs) box is expensive! FedEx quoted US $110 for International Economy & $122 for priority. So off it goes to the store. Let the retailer handle it. Hope you get a new PSU & the rubber washers ASAP. Cheers! peanutz94
trasyd, i posted this in another thread also, but posted it here to so you would see it. , plus i was missing the rubber washers and when asked if i could have them sent out i was asked to RMA the entire unit (back to holland of course so like £30 for rubber washers!) That is the standard automated response. Some parts of the RMA service have no human intervention. Everyone who asks for one is given one. I've never seen one turned down Spare parts dept will send you just the washers. There is no need to return the entire cooler. Just make sure you respond or send another message to them through that and they should get back to you that way . __________________

peanutz94
NP trasyd. @ Silver streak, if your unit is less than 30 days old send them a message through your support ticket and ask them to help with the shipping. Your in the same boat. Most of the RMA system is automated . So unless you specifically call them or send them further information you will get the standard automated response.
