corsair XMS 3000C2 not working

Recommended Posts

I have a Corsair XMS 3000C2 module (256Mb). It was working fine and suddenly stopped working. My motherboards do not boot up now with that RAM. I have tried it in Rpox 8K3A+, Epox 8RDA+, Asus P4S800D deluxe and none of them come up with the RAm, and once I put in a different RAM, they come up fine. Can you please suggest what I need to do ?

Product No. CMX256A-3000C2

What do you exactly mean by come up? System doesn't boot (can't see or go to the BIOS) anymore? If that is the case then please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if the system can boot up and go to the BIOS settings, then please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings;

TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200C2

CPU Freq: 200 MHz (400 FSB)

System Performance: User Define

Memory Frequency: 100%

Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz (400 FSB)

Memory Timing: User Define

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T (2.5 AMD Platform)

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T

DDR Reference Voltage: 2.7 Volts

AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI 9200 or 9600 then 1.6 Volts suggested!*

All other settings are motherboards defaults

Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
