WOLF
Dear Corsair. Just want to say that tomorrow Monday 17/6 is a BIG day for me since I'm going to get my pre-ordered Corsair Obsidian 900D Super Tower Case from Swedish Dustin. Then after some briefing and planning there will be a further order of a whole bunch of different Corsair Air Series Fans for my new case. So at last, it's time to reinstall my computer components in my new Corsair Obsidian 900D Super Tower Case. I'm really looking forward to this event  Regards, Bengt "WOLF" Johansson. jlhawn
you do realize the 900D is best suited for liquid cooling yes?? air cooling will not have good results, also don't forget to order cable exstensions for your cpu 8 pin power cable and your 24 pin main motherboard cable if you want them to be hidden behind the motherboard tray as they won't reach unless you run them in front where they will be seen. I like your statement on the Wolf.
WOLF
Dear jlhawn. Thank you for your good advices, yes I'm fully aware of that. As I see it it's better to grow in to the computer case, then out of it. Thanks for the nice admiration of my Wolf statement :-) Regards, Bengt "WOLF" Johansson. oscillik
got my own 900D last week, and it's running just fine on air. also did not require the extension cable that came with the case, as my AX1200 cable was fully capable of reaching due to the fact that the 900D has awesome cutouts
peanutz94
It's such a huge case and with that many fans I cant see why it wouldn't work just fine on air. All you need is good circulation and that shouldn't be hard to achieve. EDIT: Just wanted to add this from the product description.... Obsidian Series 900D is for serious builders with big projects. Do you want to design your ultimate dream PC? Add state-of-the-art liquid cooling or air cooling? Build a quadruple GPU, dual CPU graphics powerhouse? Or, just create a monster file server? So you shouldn't have anything to worry about. BTW I am truly jealous...I'm going to have to wait a few more months for my next build...can't wait to get my hands on one of these cases! jlhawn
my reason for the comment on liquid cooling for this case is there was someone on another site wanting case suggestions for 4-way sli and I suggested the 900D and about 20 people jumped all over me with comments saying the case was made for liquid cooling and that using it for air cooling would not produce good results. my thought is that because it's such a large case with the correct amount of fans it should cool very nice, I have a Corsair Vengeance C70 case with all air cooling running 2 graphics cards and my system temps are great. WOLF
Dear jhawn! I fully understand your point of view regarding the subject even though you just quoted a previous admission. The thing is that I have worked as a firefighter for almost 15 years and in my firefighter education I learned how to best evacuate smoke from residences associated with good ventilation. This knowledge I have taken advantage of in the way I see a chassis like a small house and by that use my skills for good ventilation. Besides having a good flow, it should be a constant overpressure to minimize dust coating through the passive passage in the form of ventilation holes that generally is to found in the computer chassis. The bottom line, if one does not have the need for such a large chassis as Corsair Obsidian 900D, well then you of course should focus on some better alternative covering one's needs.
