marky72
I recently bought an ax760 for my server. As the server is running 24/7 and still consumes quite a lot of energy, I wondered wether it makes sense to activate the hybrid fan mode. The server is stuffed with 9 hard disks, so there is quite a lot of heat inside the machine. Will hybrid mode notice this and pump it out in hybrid moder or does it just monitor the psu's power consumption and react accordingly? Any advice appreciated... Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 15, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 15, 2013 That only changes the fan profile so the fan runs all the time it will still over ride the setting and ramp the fan to full speed if it needs to.
ccaution
If the server is in a place with uncontrolled temperature, I'd leave that fan running. It will certainly help overall, and the consuption of a fan is something like 4 Watts or less...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 21, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 21, 2013 Yes indeed but probably more like .7 Amps at most on a fan or about 1 watt 120/140 MM Fans used in our PSU dont use much power
