h100i defective backplate?

Hello. I just got an h100i, but I'm having great difficulty with the backplate for intel systems. It won't stay firmly in place. The hexagonal screw things have two settings which are selectable for 115x or another socket type. The problem is, half the arms have loose screws that will not lock in one setting, instead sliding around loosely. I can't get it to stay put on the back of the board at all, it simply falls off. And yes, I made sure it is oriented properly. Is it normal for the screws on the certain arms to be loose, or do I have a defective backplate? I was using this as the cpu cooler for a new haswell system, and I'm pretty bummed out by this.

I've seen that video. The problem for me is that the screws are so loose the backplate does not stay fixed in place. If I were to flip my board like that guy did in the video after putting backplate in place, then backplate falls off. Also, if I shake the backplate, those 2 loose screws rattle, and they are also so loose that it won't snap into place either way, just stays loose.

Another thing I noticed, you know how there's a thick black disc sitting on each screw? Well, for the loose ones, the disk isn't tightened all the way down, but for the secure ones that do snap into place, it is screwed all the way to the bottom. Is it possible to loosen or tighten those things? I definitely can't do it manually.

The circular black disc's on the top side of the backplate are press-fit on to the movable section. You can just press down on them once you have put the nut section into the place you want it. To make it easier to move the section you can just lift up on it a little bit, then press it back down once in place.

I figured out about the press-fit thing by experimenting on my own. I was able to get it installed no problem after that. The back plate was still loose even while locked into place at first but when I tightened the pump on it the whole thing was secure. I'm getting 24c idle and 48c under aida64 now at stock frequency. Does that sound right for a correct installation as an exhaust setup?
