900D Disappointed

Well today I finally was able to get all my stuff installed in my 900D. Lets start with the good. It is a huge case with tons of room and and parts of it are good quality. Coming from the 800D I am quite disappointed though. First the hotswap drive case has the sata cables and power built in. This doesn't work for me as I have a raid controller Adaptec 6805Q. I liked how the 800D I could just hook up my cables and be done. Also the trays are way cheap for a case of this price that was also disappointing. The worst part though is the fact that the bottom right side that is supposed to stay close magnetically does not do so. Before I put anything in it if I barely tipped the case it would open up. The left side stays close just fine it is just the right side. Guess I will just tape it cuz I am not going to bother pulling out all my stuff and shipping it back. Anyway compared to the 800D quality seems to have gone downhill most parts are excellent there is just the (seems normal now a days seriously they cut costs here areas). The reason I upgraded from the 800D was so I could mount the H110 which I will say is an excellent cooler much better than my H100 somehow it is keeping things 10C cooler under load. I had both setup with 4 fans in a push/pull config.

If you already have any 800D I wouldn't bother going to the 900D maybe the 1000D is what I really need. Anything else though and this is will probably be a welcome case to come to.

BTW Corsair, I would gladly of paid double if you made a case Built in the USA and kept quality top notch. I may be the exception, but I am really starting to get tired of products made overseas, sure there is some quality, but you can't watch them 24/7 as easily and they really need that otherwise quality starts to slip.

Thanks for listening,

Dan

Just looked at the windowed side panel to put that on and each corner is all chipped up so yeah add it up and QC really sucks.

If the paint on the door is chipped, it's probably a shipping issue not a production issue. Put in a ticket, and I'm sure they'll ship you replacement.

The same probably applies to the door magnets. They're held on with small philips screws. You may have a set that are weaker that spec. They may have a repair kit they can sent you.

I do agree that the magnet door is a questionable design. Perhaps if they backed it up with an internal latch. I had issues with the SATA power cables preventing mine from closing reliably, (until I zip tied the cables to the cages.)

I also rejected the hot swap cage because of the attached cables. A modular approach would have been nice.

So the actual plexiglass is chipped up and looks like crap. As for the door it isn't the magnets I don't think the problem is the hinge wants to stay open maybe there is some way to adjust it. Just with it were better.

Seems like mostly shipping damage as for as the chips in the paint goes. I'm sure that Corsair will make it right if given the chance.

I do agree that they should have grommets above the mobo. Perhaps this is one thing they can work on getting done and include down the line
