E-ric
I have a rampage IV extreme, with 3930k and just finished a water cooling loop. I brought my cpu up to 4.4 and was curious to know about my memory settings. I set the freq to 2133 and matched the timings to the XMP profile which also states 1.65 volts. Is this a safe voltage? seems kinda warm. When i set these settings, CPUID only had the mem at 1066?
peanutz94
Yes, the voltage is safe for your CPU. And will be needed to run the memory at it's (overclocked)rated speed. You also have to remember that overclocking in itself is a risk. Safe is default settings for both CPU and memory. When i set these settings, CPUID only had the mem at 1066? Thats correct. DDR stands for "Double Data Rate" so you would take your 1066mhz and double it for an effective speed of 2132mhz or really 2133mhz. So as long as your system is stable at those settings you should be good to go.
