stevenk92
This just started happening recently. Sometimes, not all the time, when I switch profiles or when I press one of the side buttons my whole entire pc would freeze. At first this happened when the buttons did not have a function and now it has progressed to randomly freezing regardless of if it had a function or not. I have no clue how to fix this issue. Toasted
Do you have the latest BIOS, chipset drivers, M90 firmware and software? Have you tried a different USB 2.0 port?

Everythings up to date, changed to different usb ports even 3.0 still happens
Toasted
Reflash the M90 firmware and see if that helps.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 11, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 11, 2013 Uninstall the software, does it still happen? Do you have a second machine to test on as well?
gpe
I've got the same issue. PC freezes because of the mouse. With the software installed it's really bad, a few times a days. Without the software it's only a few times a week. It's also random. Sometimes it freezes my pc when I use the mouse and just now the pc wouldn't go out of the screen saver mode (turn of screen after 15 minutes). There was still winamp with some music in the background. When I moved the mouse it stopped playing for 10 seconds or so and resumed again. When moving the mouse, same pc freeze. I had to restart the pc. I'm going to try my old broken mouse this weekend to see if it stops the problem. If so I either send this mouse back or buy another one. EDIT: Just downloaded the latest driver and noticed firmware 1.12 is out. I just updated from 1.11, maybe this fixes it. EDIT2: Firmware update didn't fix this. Had another freeze a few minutes ago. Using my old mouse now for the next few days to be sure it is the mouse that is freezing my pc. EDIT3: It's not the mouse. While using my old razor I had another freeze this morning. I have to test for it with my K90 or Vengeance 2000. Most likely the K90 since the headset was working fine before I bought the K90 and M90. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 9, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 9, 2013 Check to ensure your 5V isn't being erratic (that is the rail USB uses). Also double check your memory for memtest issues as that is usually the culprit for random freezes.
gpe
The only tool I found that can check the 5V rail is HWiNFO64. It shows a steady 4.969 V for several hours. I guess it should be with my only-a-month-old AX760. I ran 2 full memtest passes without any errors. I've been reading an interesting article about power supplies and there was a tiny chapter about UPS's. Basically what it said was that you need a UPS that is big enough. I doubt my system pulls a lot of power. But my UPS is pretty old (as in years old) and has only 1000VA. The article said that 60% of that is about the Watt output (and it also said not many people know about this, including me). I guess that is when it is brand new, so probably over the years it lost even more effectiveness. So I'm going to buy a new UPS (found one of 2000VA and 1200W) and hope that fixes the issue. If a new UPS does not fix it, my guess is it must be somewhere in the combo of Vengeance 2000, K90 and M90.

gpe
I ended up with a simulated sine wave. A pure sine wave is way too expensive. But anyway, that didn't fix the random freezes. However I've been playing with my GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H bios settings and haven't had any issue for almost 3 weeks now. The changes I've made: XHCI hand-off -> enabled EHCI hand-off -> enabled Port 60/64 Emulation -> enabled I'm not sure which setting did the trick but I'm guessing the first two. It's working perfectly for me now so I'm not gonna try out which setting it really was. The XHCI setting is related to the Z77, H77, B75 and Q77 boards. I'm posting this here so it might help someone else.
