Tassl3hoff
I bought a $90 pair of new USB Corsair 1500 headphones about a week ago and when listening to Youtube/music or playing games after about 5 minutes or so it will start getting all staticy fuzz and I have to manually unplug from the USB port and plug them back in and it'll immediately come good for another few minutes although it's incredibly frustrating in games as it requires a complete exit from the game and reloading of the game. Itunes/flash only requires a replug in. Wiggling the cord does nothing when it gets staticy so the cable seems fine. It seems to get worse when playing complex music/multiple sources as it'll be fine when there's little sound. Using the Corsair Headset Version: 2.0.0.4 Driver Version: 7.0.8.2150 Audio Codec: CM6302 Audio Controller: Intel® 7 Series C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E2D Are they faulty, should I get a refund any advice, thanks. :sigh!:
Toasted
Try the headset on a different computer and see if the static noise is still there.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 10, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 10, 2013 Download the DPC latency check and see what your latency is like when it happens.
Tassl3hoff
I downloaded the DPC latency check, and it seems to hover around 700 +-50 or so regardless of when it gets all staticy fuzz. It seems to happen much more when playing skyrim/alan wake/gaming than when playing normal youtube/itunes audio and it goes back to normal if I persevere with it for a minute or two which is painful though. Edit: I've done some playing around and found when I unplug the 1500 from the USB 2.0 port it perma spikes to 8000 until it's plugged back in, in which case it drops back down to 700 or so. I've just now plugged it into what I think might be a USB 3 port (blue strip one) and the latency is down to about 120 or so. Will keep posted. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 17, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 17, 2013 Does the same issues happen when you use USB 3.0? I expect the 3.0 to have some noise if its using a third party controller. Its also interesting your 2.0 spikes after a disconnect rather than it being connected so you may want to look into that as well.
Tassl3hoff
It's seems to be sweet using USB 3.0 no noisey fuzz and static so far. I realised when I switched to 3.0 the reason the latency went down to 100 or so was because the corsair control panel defaulted back to Bypass, when I switched back to Dolby Pro Logic II it went back to 650 or so. Should I try reinstalling my chipset drivers for the mobo to maybe reset the USB 2 ports as it was a custom built job I did or just be happy as Larry it seems all good now, ta. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 24, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 24, 2013 You should always be using the latest chipset drivers so definitely do update them even if you're not going to use them so you won't have any issues down the road later.
