Nuke68
I've been having this problem for about two weeks now. Sometimes when I bring my PC out of sleep mode the fans will start up but, the the screen remains black. It seems like only the fans are coming on. If I hit the power switch it tries to start up then goes dead. If I hit the power switch again nothing will happen no lights nothing, it's dead. Only after I hit the power button again once or twice after a few seconds will it start up fine. I've started to shutdown my PC instead of putting it to sleep. But, now it will also do nothing for a few seconds when I hit the power button. After hitting the power button again after a few seconds it will eventually start. It's like I have to hit the power button once or twice(no lights nothing happening) before it will start. Also, sometimes I'm getting no power for the USB ports. Only if I restart the PC will the power to the ports be there. Edit:Just wanted to add, this seems to happen if I leave the PC off for longer periods. Is this a PSU fault? My AX750 PSU was bought a year and half ago from Komplett.ie. Thanks

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 15, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 15, 2013 I am sorry about the long time to reply we have been a little short handed this week due to cold or flue running amok in the office. If the system starts normally from being off I would check with the MB maker for the latest MB BIOS and drivers as what you have posted would suggest some driver issue or some device in your system ism not waking from suspect properly. Nuke68
Thanks for the reply RAM GUY, This morning when I went to turn my PC on I got nothing. I had to turn the switch at the back of the PSU off and on to get it to start up. Also, all my MB drivers are up to date. I built this PC 2 years ago and all was fine up to a few weeks ago. Nuke68
Hi, I didn't want to RMA the PSU just yet because, it might be the MB that is faulty. I wanted to update you on the issue. Sometimes the computer will start no problems other times it won't start at all when I hit the start button. But when this happens, if I hold down the start button for about 10 seconds it will start up. Also, I can't put the PC to sleep at all now without the issue happening. It's either the PSU or the MB that is faulty. Unfortunately I don't have another PSU laying around to test to see if it's the PSU. What do you guys reckon? My AX750 PSU was bought a year and half ago from Komplett.ie. Thanks I am having basically the same problem with my brand new HX650. I need to recycle the power supply (unplug it, wait, plug it back in) everytime I want to start my PC, if it has been turned off for a few hours. But when it works, everything works great, I dont understand  Trying my old PSU and so far so good. Going to keep testing it for the next few days to really make sure I need to send my new one back
forttres
Hi, I have the same problem with AX 750. Warranty will be recognized, if I send PSU without cables? I'm from Poland
peanutz94
shanehawley, please use the link on the left to request an RMA to get your PSU replaced. @forttres Hi, I have the same problem with AX 750. Warranty will be recognized, if I send PSU without cables? Sorry, No! You need to send all the cables and accessories with the PSU. You'll get a brand new set with the new unit. Nuke68
Ok this is new, my computer just shut off suddenly while gaming. It's was like when the power goes out in the house. Reliability history in Action center shows nothing. I'm now leaning more toward my PSU failing.
peanutz94
Have you checked the voltages in your BIOS for 12,5v, and 3.3v rails?
Nuke68
I just wanted to let anyone out there that might have the same issues know it was the PSU that was faulty. I got hold of a friend's PSU to test it out. There were no issues at all with a different PSU in the PC.

I had that problem the first couple of times (like 5 startups) too! Somehow the problem fixed itself.. But i'm still a little scared something is wrong with the PSU. Also because the PSU makes a loud 'click' when shutting down.
