RoccoD
I guess I should have done my research beforehand but I just installed 4 Gentle Typhoons with my Corsair Link and the H100. Fans look like they're on max for good. Any workaround for this? I'm assuming Corsair only supports corsair fans....
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 3, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 3, 2013 You will have to use our fans on the H100 or you can use the Typhoons on our Corsair and Link Kit but not on the cooler sorry.

I tried that but they're stuck at max.
Toasted
if you have the LINK Cooling Kit, try the Cooling Node.
RoccoD
if you have the LINK Cooling Kit, try the Cooling Node. nope. doesn't work. stays at 3000rpm i'm back to my stock fans that came with the H100. Now can someone tell me where I can find 2 more of these? I don't want to buy 4 more fans, I only want to double up to a push/pull config. http://i.imgur.com/76bISYT.jpg?1 If someone on here has a pair they've got lying around please let me know! RoccoD
update! I got the 4 gentle typhoons working perfectly with link. It took a bit of soldering but overall a very simple procedure. I followed this guide here; http://www.overclockers.com/Gentle-Typhoon-AP-29-to-PWM except I ended up with the connector looking like the one here in the end: http://i.imgur.com/1E1nWlz.jpg now each of them is connected straight into the node. All are reading fine in the software and I can adjust them all.
mrstudz
I too have the modded ap-29's running on an h80i. The problem is the hydro usb seems to have limited PWM abilities, and it is directly Optimized for the fans shipping with it. On my mobo header the lowest value I can get on the ap-29 is 112 rpm, highest is 3125. It is smooth as butter and only rushing air in between. On the hydro USB, the lowest is 1250 rpm, max 2750 and it makes an annoying whine/ howl throughout the range.

For some reason when setting the fans to 'balanced' it seems to drop the fan speed lower than the 40% limit when setting it based on percentage. I've just had it on balanced for normal use and max for when the computer is rendering video files with all cores running at 100%
