x509
When I upgraded my motherboard recently, I added a GTX 660 vid card, so I needed to add a 6/8 pin power cable to my AX 850 power supply. This cable has a 6x2 connectors at the power supply end. When I plugged this cable into the power supply, there was no "snap," unlike every other cable that is plugged into the PS. I tried a different 6x2 header in the power supply - same result. If I look at all the connectors in the top row, this cable's connector sticks out a bit compared to the other connectors in the same row. Is this situation something I should be worried about? Should I RMA the cable? To be clear, the vid card works just fine. Thanks x509
peanutz94
Maybe i'm missing something here...But the 6+2 end should be at the GPU. There should be a solid connector at the PSU end. It's not a split connector.
jlhawn
yeah the 6+2 end of the cable goes in the graphics card with the 2 pin just hanging there if the card is not a 8 pin, the solid 8 pin end goes in the power supply.
