sotiris.bos
I recently bought a TX750M (have had it for 1-2 months) and since the day i installed it i hear a high pitched buzzing/whine sound. The same day i installed my new graphics card. I didn't have any problems before. The sound must be coming from the PSU. I tried disabling the power saving states and that somewhat cured the problem but not completely. I don't want to have to keep them disabled. The sound is noticable only when idling and browsing, not while gaming or even running Prime95 on the desktop. For some reason the sound gets a lot louder when i am moving my mouse and gets even more intense when i increase my gaming mouse's polling rate, particularly to 1000Hz. I even noticed the sound getting more intense when moving the mouse while in the bios (bios, not uefi where the mouse is utilized). I am sure the problem is not the mouse as unplugging it does not stop the noise. Please instruct me on what to do. Thank you in advance.
JKeifer
Interesting you should mention that you installed a new graphics card at the same time. I recently installed a GTX-690 and that card has the loudest buzzing from the electronics I have ever heard! I know it's not the fan and the noise changes when I move the mouse and/or play games putting a load on the graphics card. The noise could be coming from the card and, if you still have the old one, I'd swap it back in and listen.....
sotiris.bos
I tried the older graphics card and it is still producing the noise so it is not that. I tried my older psu with my old gpu and i didn't notice any sound except for when i put my head inside the case and nearly touched the motherboard. It was kind of the same but barely noticable. Is there any chance that interference between the psu and the motherboard is responsible?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 7, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 7, 2013 Is this while it is running or when it is off? And what happens if you install the old Video card Does it make the same sound?
sotiris.bos
It's while the computer is running and idling at the desktop or browsing (low load scenarios). I tried the older gpu and the noise didn't go away. My motherboard is an old P55 Intel model so it does not have usb charging while off if that's what you were reffering to about when it is powered off. I also tried the older psu and it did not make the sound so it is definately the tx750m alone or in conjuction with the mobo. I don't have another system to test it in.
