Corsair AF140 Fan Not Controllable with Corsair Link/Cooling Node

I just replaced one of my NZXT 140mm case fans with a Corsair AF140. The five NZXT fans in my case are completely controllable with the Corsair Link software and Cooling Node, but the Corsair AF140 can't be controlled and only runs between 950 and 1100 RPM, with the RPM increasing and decreasing on its own.

From Corsair's website: "Corsair Link kits include fan controllers that work with virtually any standard PC case fan..."

It is odd that Corsair's own fan doesn't work with the Link kit. Shouldn't the AF140 be controllable with the Corsair Link software and the Cooling Node? Is my AF140 defective?

We are looking into this but I am afraid there is not a lot we can do at this time. except to suggest using a MB fan header and adjust the speed through the BIOS. I am assuming that you want to run them at about 500-600 RPM to Max?

Yes. I would like to be able to run them from 600 RPM to Max.

I really love the look of this fan, and if we can figure out how to make these work with the cooling node, then I'm going to order a couple more for my case.

Thanks for your help on this RAM GUY.

Hi AlphaBravo,

my 3 Corsair AF140 QUITE EDITION working great on my Cooling Node

firmware version 1.2.5

They are controllable from ~ 500 to max ~985 rpm

Sry for english

Thanks for the information. I guess I can try to update the firmware to 1.2.5.

I read here: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showpost.php?p=645644&postcount=2

that there were some issues with 1.2.5. Anyone care to weigh in on what those issues are?

If I update the cooling node firmware to 1.2.5, and it causes my other fans to start clicking or making noise, is there a way to revert back to the prior firmware?

I have looked into this and with the AF140 on our Link cooling node you can only control the fan from about 850-1100 RPM, so this is normal. I would suggest using a MB fan header for that fan and control it in your BIOS.
