CTV
Hi From what I the read, the new generation AX760/AX860 PSUs have fanless operation if the PSU's load is under a certain threshold and only kicks in the fan once the threshold is reached. I have also read that it is normal for the PSUs to occasionally every few seconds or minutes spin the fan up to a high speed to flush potentially built-up hot air, even if the PSU fan has not yet kicked in as it did not yet reach the load threshold. If my understanding is correct, my questions are: 1.) Will toggling the fan control switch from hybrid mode (I assume this is semi- fanless) to normal mode, would result in the fan running constantly, irrespective of the PSU load, effectively circumventing the fanless mode operation? 2.) Should my assumption in the question above be correct, will the PSU fan still occasionally spin/spool up to high speed to flush out potentially built-up hot air as per hybrid mode, or will the fact that the fan is running constantly, negate the need for this and continue to run constantly, without spooling at height speed occasionally? Can I ask that someone from Corsair confirm answers to these to questions. Thanks

It will depend on system load. But if it is called for it should spool up like normal.
CTV
Yes, i believe so. It will depend on system load. But if it is called for it should spool up like normal. Thanks Peanutz, I do wish for confirmation from a Corsair representative. Hopefully RAM GUY or Technobeard will see this and advise. I personally prefer the Normal mode fan operation and I am a bit worried that the fan may still occasionally spool up to a high speed, in spite of the fan running the whole time, which will be annoying to say the least. Corsair guys, please confirm this. Thanks

If it needs to , yes, it will spool up.
