CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B BSOD Problem

Hi. I have my first build all set up and used for nearly two and a half months now, and I just have problems with the Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) Dual Channel set that I just purcashed from Amazon.com for my custom rig about two months ago. Every time I try to match the sticks in the exact two blue slots on my Asus P8Z77-V LX motherboard along with the Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) set installed in the two black slots, the blue DIMMs caused a BSOD with Memory Management about twice to three times every day on my desktop, and I realized that I bought the wrong set in a dumb move I did after the total RAM was 16. They are both at 1600MHz, and 1.50V.

Here's my specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

ASUS P8-Z77-LX Motherboard

Intel Core i5 3750K Ivy Bridge 3rd Generation Quad-Core CPU @ 3.40GHz

Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB HDD

Seagate 1TB HDD

Cooler Master 500w PSU

Gigabyte AMD Radeon 7750 1GB @ 880MHz Core Clock Factory OC'd

I have tested each stick one by one with Memtest on Windows 7 Ultimate, they passed and worked fine, but the BSOD kept coming back with different errors at 16GB total. So I decided to keep the black 8GB DIMM set to the correct slots and no BSODs have occurred with just that exact total of RAM I will use for now after changing the DRAM Voltage to 1.525V instead of the advertised voltage on the Asus UEFI BIOS. I'm awaiting an RMA request on the Vengeance Blue set to be replaced with the same Vengeance black set as the issue is going to be resolved. The ticket code is 6027465. I bought the wrong set from Amazon.com from 3/30/13.

Here's the pics of the memory slots I've checked with CPU-Z attached to this post. Can't find a way to upload minidumps, though.

Gonna need help on resolving the mistakes I've done when I first set up my rig. Thanks in advance.

Corsair does not suggest or support mixing /combining memory for this very reason. Your best move would be to return them and just get a single matched kit of the TOTAL capacity you are wanting. A matched 16 or 32gig kit would be best. There is just no way to guarantee that any two random kit's will work together or not even if they were two kits of the exact same part number... And you have two totally different part numbers comprised of totally different memory modules..

You never add memory ...just replace! :)

Well, attempting to return the Vengeance Blue 8GB set on Amazon won't be the best option for me since the return window date expired from the date of purchase, so I may have to sell it on eBay. So I might as well get the same black Vengeance 8GB kit to get 16GB total back without problems. Thanks, I'll try replacing it with the same set I had on the motherboard.

And I can't seem find a special button to delete my other posts/threads due to mistakes.

Black or blue makes no difference. If you are wanting a total of 16gig's then you need to purchase a single 16gig kit. Purchasing another 8gig set will only put you right back in the same position you are in now..

As i stated before Cordsair does not suggest or support mixing/combining memory EVEN if they are two kits of the same exact part number. They still would be considered two totally random kits and there is no way to tell if they will run together or not. For Corsair to guarantee complete compatibility ALL your memory must come from one single tested package.

I understand....

Guess I will have to sell the black 8GB kit too and get the Vengeance 16gb kit instead if I ever want that total. Again, thanks.
