Kueey
Hi there, I just received the Corsair SP2500 2.1 system and upon setting it up I noticed a distinct lack of bass. At first I thought that setting were perhaps wrong on my pc, but after double checking everything I put it down to the unit. I'm not sure if this is normal, or if anybody that has the same speakers could let me know, but the bass from the subwoofer only seems to kick in when the volume level on the control unit is out of the dark blue section and into the light blue. This means that no sound is coming out of the sub whilst at low levels. I've checked to make sure that the unit is not in Night Mode, and have tried different pre-sets, and all have the same issue. Have also tried plugging my ipod into the speakers and it seems to have the same issue. I'm using a Asus Xonar D2 if this helps. Many Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 29, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 29, 2013 Is your subwoofer volume setting all the way up into the red?
Kueey
It works in the red, but i get nothing from the sub at all whilst its in the dark blue, which seems to be the majority of the volume levels. I'm just wondering if this is normal, even with a fairly decent sound card, or if there is a possible fault with my set? I tried downloading the latest driver/firmware to see if it resolved the issue, however i'm running Windows 8 64bit and couldn't find a driver that was compatible. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 30, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 30, 2013 This is normal Kueey. The range for the subwoofer is actually much smaller than what the equalizer shows. You should keep it in the red as it won't damage anything.
