Help Needed H100 Leak

Hi RAM GUY,

I found my 1.5 years old H100 leaked yesterday. I noticed that the CPU temperature went up to 80C (normal 44C) and the fan runs fast.

I submitted the claim # 6024780.

Please help as the shop I bought said it is not covered by warranty but the box said 5 years.

Thanks

Hi wytnyt, Leak seems came from the pump area.

I installed the cooling 1.5 years ago and never opened.

I haven't run the system after removing the cooling. The liquid spills to my VGA and memory down to case and leak out to the floor.http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac122/brahmanto/2013-05-26073545.jpg

if it were me id get a cheap air cooler and use it to test your system.

corsair has been known to help cover cost of damaged parts on a case by case basis.youll need to take pics and most likely will need to send affected parts to corsair so they can check them.of course tho the cooler will be replaced since its still under warranty.

Removed the VGA card from the board and found liquid inside the PCIE slots.

Is it enough by just blowing by hairdryer? I saw the greenish spotting on my board (which I can clean by wiping dry cloth) but not inside the PCIE slots.

Now the board and VGA is dry but still I can't clean the dried greenish spot on PCIE slots. Is it going to be trouble in the future?

I am waiting for another hours to ensure it is dry by let it open.

the green color is the glycol of the cooling liquid,id at least wait till tomorrow after drying, better playing it safe.

if the computer was off when it leaked and you dry well enough then most likely no damage will be done

Thanks a lot wytnyt...really appreciate your advise. I will will wait until tomorrow.

It was runs but I noticed that the CPU temperature was very high around 80C vs. normal 40C. I immediately shut down the PC normally and found the leak occurred from my H100.

If you have green in your slots then you need to get it out. You can use regular 90% rubbing alcohol to clean up any of the coolant, but make sure it is good and dry before testing anything.

Hey Wytnyt,

ou need to wipe every part and make sure their dry before doing so.you can speed up drying by using a hair dryer but just make sure its dry.electronics and moisture do not mix.

Just a FYI, If you just dry the coolant, it will leve a film of glychohol in the slots. , or any other component. That will need to be cleaned up or it can prevent not only a improper electrical contact, but also cause corrosion down the line. Alcohol is good and electronic or circuit board/contact cleaner is even better. Although more expensive than rubbing alkee-hol :P

Run my computer 2 days ago and works well, I cleaned the green spot with alcohol.

Thanks Corsair. I just send the cooler to the link provided to my email today.

Put the tracking number in the corsair RMA web just now.
