th0rney
Hi all, First off an update on the h100i situation. It's working great now. Managed to get the latest firmware on it. I still can't control it when it's connected with the IC2 cable to the Link Commander, but I'll happily wait and see if firmware can address that. New issue All my fans (including the h100i's fans) are connected to my cooling node, and I can't get Corsair Link to run custom fan curves (or any fan curves for that matter) Obviously we can all see where this is an issue since if I'm not paying 100% attention some serious damage could be being caused to my PC. Here's some screen shots to explain http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7294/8803138984_a8aa917a15_o.jpg http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5348/8803140472_d676580d80_o.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3699/8803141652_e883e3abba_o.jpg http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5326/8803142838_e07788696c_o.jpg Issue number 2 I cannot for the life of me get my LEDs to remember what they're meant to be doing. Every time I reboot the PC they go into some nice colour chase mode instead of what I have them set to (temp related to the GPU and the CPU). To get them to do what I want I have to go into Link and switch them from temp controlled to something else and back. I've tried reinstalling and clearing profiles several times Any advice would be great!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 23, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 23, 2013 Please set it up from the system page not the group page
th0rney
I've been using the system page. I just clicked across to the group page as it allowed me to show the issue more easily. Sorry for the confusion. To confirm, I set up the associations in the system page using the drop down Group menu to select the device it was paired with. Any idea about the LEDs? Just out of curiosity what's the point of the Groups page currently then? Thanks
Bryman
i think the reason ramguy doesnt want you to group them with the group page is that some of the icons might not link to the right things...most of the time its not a problem...hes just making sure thats not the case...i doubt thats the case in this situation are you using stock fans? Ah, okay then. Like I said, kind of a moot point since I was just using that display out of laziness! Shouldn't matter, I'm running them off the cooling node, but yes, the h100i fans are stock. The nodes running those paired, 2 noctua af-15 pwm paired, the stock exhaust fan, and the stock front intake fan on my 300r
wytnyt
why use groups tab to group then, then have to go to system tab to set the parameters when it all can be done from the systems area.
th0rney
why use groups tab to group then, then have to go to system tab to set the parameters when it all can be done from the systems area. The groups tab was only used for me to show the problem, I don't normally use it. I normally stay in the system tab. My question still stands though, what's the point of the group tab if; 1) it's currently useless, and 2) if we're actively advised to not use it. Why not just remove it from the current build until it's more useful?
Bryman
its not useless...ram guy just wanted to make sure that everything that was labeled was linking to the right stuff...it does make things look slightly more organized in group tab
th0rney
its not useless...ram guy just wanted to make sure that everything that was labeled was linking to the right stuff...it does make things look slightly more organized in group tab So it's purely a nice view. Has no functional purpose whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, I love Corsair Link. I'm just worried that as the other thread on this issue shows there are too many people willing to jump to its defense no matter what, and too few people providing actual answers. RAM Guy does a brilliant job, but I really feel Corsair have let him down when he's one person having to guide countless numbers of people through buggy software and firmware! wytnyt
using it not using it can be picked to death if wanted but the bottom line is ''its easier to use system tab'' where all the settings can be done. its such a trivial thing to be concerned about
th0rney
Okay, we're getting off topic here. The point is I've used the system tab and I'm still having the issues described with both the LEDs and the fans. Any advice on that? Oh, and to add to this issue, I've just booted my PC this morning and Corsair Link is reporting CPU temps of 72 degrees, whereas HWmon and my motherboard are saying 40. Toasted
Increase the fan RPMs a bit so it the min will be around ~750+ and see if that helps. Try a different Group e.g. the CPU temp and see if the fan speeds change. For the L.E.D., Is the software set to startup on Windows login? Note: v2.4.4948 is a Beta version so it may be a bug. Try an older version of the SW and see if the L.E.D.s change while set on temperature mode. As for the Groups tab, its not useless, its just a better way of mapping out which device is grouped to which (as mentioned). Not sure about the difference between the config page as it should be the same in System and Groups. It would be weird if it wasn't.

Zuhl3156
Please set it up from the system page not the group page Just want to say thanks for this post. I installed my H80i about a week ago and was having problems setting up my fan curve. I was too embarrassed to admit that I couldn't figure it out and didn't know how to ask. I now know to left-click in the system page and not right-click in the group page. Please be patient with me. This is my first post. I am old... and feeble too! lol

jayboydo
I have the exact same problem with my led node. Running two channels atm. The second channel almost never remembers its saved setting, is stuck in a random flashing rotation, and may only be corrected by switching off my saved setting to something else and then back, as you've said. Haven't played with custom fan curves yet, just running things at max as my computer is isolated from the rest of the house and I have a pair of closed headphones to use. An additional problem though that I have experienced is sometimes the icons will appear on both the left column (as if I hadn't arranged them yet) and spread out in the proper locations over the image of my case. The left hand column icons show my saved configuration while the icons spread across the case image read with zero values. A restart is the only thing that fixes it. Anyone else experiencing that bug too? Overall though I must say this latest software update is much improved from previous, which gives me faith that these gripes will get ironed out in time.
