excaka
seems to be running a little hot. my idle temps are at about 35-38 and under load about 60-65. its stock speed not overclocked. i see similar set ups as mine, and see them idling at about 25. i tried reseating it, and re applying the thermal paste (pk1) with no avail. Bryman
under load do you mean stress testing? or games if games...might be a little high...but if stress testing pretty good temps as wytnyt said idle temps dont mean **** when it comes to water cooling...why would you care about idle temps anyway? also idle temps highly depend on the temp of the air around you if its 5C cooler in the air if fan and everything running at same speed...coolant is going to be 5C cooler and processor should be about 5C cooler too
wytnyt
coolant is going to be 5C cooler and processor should be about 5C cooler too actually on a normal idle cpu temps will average 3-5 degrees higher than ambient temp
HOODedAssault
You are a little high depending on your case airflow. Intel's spec is up to 1.35v I believe on stock CPU so if u got a bad bin it may run a lot higher voltage than others your are seeing. Your also running a case meant for good sound. If you don't have side fans ad a couple. Will give u a significant drop. My hex is around 60C stock I think in prime. Under 80C at 4.5ghz. But I have pish/pull fans on a controller at 2000rpm. fmydog
So I definitely think you have a problem somewhere my cpu runs 23c at idle and 44 at 100% load. Ambient temps 21.6 Celsius. And this is at 100% load with 4.3 GHz overclock. and I have a h100i in push config cooling it with 2 7970 windforce pushing hot air into the outtake of my h100i lol if I set the h100i as intake my cpu idles 4c lower but then the vid cards stay 4c hotter so its a tradeoff. No you don't. Sorry, but its statements like this that make people think there's a problem with their setups. Not a chance in hell you top out at 44C at 100% load with prime95 with AVX. Not even custom water would get those temps under prime95. Not overclocked at least.
Bryman
actually on a normal idle cpu temps will average 3-5 degrees higher than ambient temp i was talking if the ambient temp was about 5C cooler then everything would be about 5C cooler not 5C cooler than ambient temp
wytnyt
in most scenarios id agree but there are some load testers that really dont stress that hard but overall yes hood ive seen people complain when they see posts like this frankly id ask to see the numbers as these coolers are good but they cant freeze hot water.;): i know id love to see 23c at idle
Bryman
who cares about idle temps...seriously its load you wanna see low if i got 50C idle but 60C load vs 30C idle 70C load...which one u think id want
