karps
I am getting no response on ticket 6010264. I have a noisy unit which keeps falling off the case. Please see the case notes and advise me on how we can get this sorted.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 21, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 21, 2013 The RMA was previously approved, and you never answered our question about how the cooler is connected, are you using the USB Dongle or do you have it connected through our Corsair Link Commander? And what is the firmware file name you are trying to update and what are you trying to update
karps
Hi Ram Guy, I had responded, below is what I see in the ticket comments: ======== Created By: Adrian Karpicz (5/10/2013 12:59 AM) Hi Joseph, Thanks for your response. I had already tried the below fixes you suggested as I have done quite a bit of reading on corsair and various other forums about problems surrounding this model. I tried your suggestions again, yet to fail again "Error Loading Firmware File!" The only software I have installed is the software which comes with my ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard. I have also stopped the services on these programs and attempted your suggestions below, with no success either. Thanks for sending the screws for the unit, which I haven't received tracking information for yet. However I don't believe the screws will be much help, the screws are loosing their tact from the radiator itself. I believe that the thread is no longer holding in the radiator itself. I am really loosing my patience with this system as the noise is getting very hard to deal with ( I can hear the unit form the other side of my place of residence), I use this machine as a home lab and intend on having it running 24/7 and at this point it is proving impossible due to the noise of the system... In my eyes, this product is DOA, it has not performed as it should form day 1. Is there a revised model, or replacement parts that you could send out (with the latest firmware)? Created By: Joseph TS (5/2/2013 1:30 PM) We are sending you some of the radiator screws for the cooler. As for the error that you are getting when flashing the FW. Do you have the cooler connected to the MB using the USB Link cable? If so, stop Corsair Link Hardware monitor under task manager, close the SW then uninstall the software from the control panel including all the profiles, install the SW then go to Options and then click “Reset to defaults” then shutdown, unplug the USB connector, plug it back in to the same header or maybe try a different header, then turn on the system back on and see if that makes a difference. Btw, do you have any other PC health/temp monitoring app, such PC probe, Fan Expert, etc.? If so, try to uninstall them, it may be that other app could be conflicting with Corsair Link. Created By: Adrian Karpicz (4/29/2013 3:09 AM) Fan noise/rattle issue. Cannot update firmware as the software fails to load firmware file. Screws between fans and radiator have come loose. ======== I am trying to update the firmware for the h80i as per your post in the forums (H80i_v1.0.5) no I am not trying to update the commander as I don't own one. I have also downloaded and installed the latest Link software. When you say my RMA was approved, what does this mean? Does it mean that if I send the whole unit back, you will them send a new one out?

karps
Can you please give me a contact number that I can call support on from Australia, because I believe calling an international number is going to cost me a fortune? I don't believe I should be paying half the cost of the product in postage to return a product that was faulty from day 1.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 24, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 24, 2013 You would want to use SKYPE and call the toll free number listed under 888-222-4346 and it will be a free call, but you would have to call them between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time, you can use http://www.timeanddate.com to see the local time for San Francisco.
