GendoIkari
I have several Corsair AF120's in my case being run off of two Corsair Cooling Nods, as well as two SP120's hooked up on the pull side of my H100i, being run off of and controlled by the H100i. Within the last month thou, I have had several of the AF120's "die" and one of the SP120's die. However, when I hook them up to the on-board motherboard headers or an adapter, they run fine. Is running corsair fans off a corsair link cooling node actually burning the headers out? And if so, is there anything that can be done? Because I am on the verge of buy two more cooling nodes to control the nine SP120's I plan to have cooling my Mo-Ra 3 rad. If not, I'll have to look somewhere other than corsair.. Toasted
Are you using y-splitters on the nodes? How many fans are you running on one node?
GendoIkari
The only Y splitters I'm using are the ones that came with the H100i, and I'm using those on the H100i. other than that, I have two cooling nodes.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 22, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 22, 2013 What happens f you move the fans to a different header on the same cooling NODE do they run again? If so restart the system and see if the fan are still running and if not move them back to the original position and see if they are now running. Raging_Dork
I have this problem every 1 week or so. 1 of the fans would just stop moving. I reflashed the firmware on the cooling node and it starts moving again. Have to say not to impressed with this line of products.
wemdee
I had to keep doing the "re-flash trick" to get my fans going again, but the latest firmware seems to work with my fans (Enermax). The only real problem now is that the two corsair fans I bought keep clicking. Eventually, I will order a couple of Enermax to replace them. Other thing I had to do was run my 140mm and 200mm on the molex. I got tired of trying to get them to work with the cooling node. Not a big deal because I can't hear them, but it is a little annoying not having them in the link display.
AlC0
As I mentioned in this thread, I solved that issue with buying PWM splitters with external power supply. Only taking the PWM signal from the node, and getting the power for the fans directly from the PSU.
