H80i pump randomly stops working on boot

So I've been encountering an interesting problem. My h80i pump will randomly decide to stop working on boot (when it does work on boot, it doesn't quit out on me). The LED will flash red, and the fans will rev up like crazy, and tempatures will slowly but surely rise. Once it hits 84-85 the pump suddenly kicks in and tempatures drop like crazy. I also get the cpu fan error.

 

It's done this a couple of times now, and I've tried various ways to trouble shoot it (removing the cpu fan 3 pin connector, and plugging back, removing the molex connect and re connected it).

 

Now keep in mind this happens randomly (sometimes multiple times in a row). I'm not sure if the issue lies with the pump, the connector, or the motherboard.
