ViTosS
Hi guys, recently I bought a Corsair H100i and installed everything went fine, I did keep my current OC that I was using before with Thermaltake Frio but when I run 30 min of Prime 95 the max temps get between 80~85º and before they used to get 60~65ºC (with Tt Frio), I saw in another forum people saying that you need to put some washers in the backplate mount to help the H100i make a better contact with the thermal paste. I think that is my problem, do you guys ever heard about that problem on H100i? Because first time I was installing it I noticed it was a little bit loose in the block, is that normal? Anyway, hope you guys can help me fix this temperature problem. Thanks! :thumb:
wytnyt
the plate is designed to be a tad loose to aid in mounting the block.see if it feels tight with no movement.did you use the stock paste?how much are you over clocked? try to give as much info as possible

Thanks.
wytnyt
you can easily check to see if washers will help by pressing on the block while checking temps.stock tim would have been better to use
ViTosS
you can easily check to see if washers will help by pressing on the block while checking temps.stock tim would have been better to use I tried stock tim but when I ran Prime 95 in the first 5 seconds it hits 95ºC, I stopped at the same time as I saw the crazy temperature, so I removed the block and saw there was almost no contact between the block and the paste over the processor, so I cleaned it all and used my tim and it reduced drastically the temperatures, but it is also high. Gonna try installing the backplate to the space for screw match the mobo screws and putting some washers, but I need to know if I will have to buy washers or if I can use those proposed to be used in the radiator mount at top of the case
wytnyt
i cant say if they will work or not but considering screw size is relatively the same then most likely yes but of course they need to be non conductive like nylon or plastic
