Corsair AX650 Gold | The pc does not start after being turned off

Hello to all.

I have a problem "weird" when I turn off the PC then I can not turn it on normally. If I press the button on the case nothing happens, as if it was powered ... but in fact it is because the lights are lit on the motherboard. I tried to start it by pressing the power button on the motherboard, but the outcome is always the same.

This is a problem I have about a month, and this fraction of the time I turned on the PC by moving the attack of the power plug to be connected to the power supply. In fact, if I move this attack say halfway, contact type and the PC does not turn on.

I've always given little weight because I thought it was excessive dust to give problems maybe the connection ....

Yesterday I just removed any PC, component by component, and I did a total cleaning of everything, including wiring.

Despite what the problem persists .... start the pc with the "trick", then as soon as I turn it off if I try to turn it back on is wrong.

What can it be? The faulty cable can not be because I've tried 3 different ... I do not think that gets little power even if it goes well I can not explain why the PC once it starts working properly then ...

Also I can not explain even one more thing ... but how to turn on the PC only moving power behind the attack?

Unless Corsair agreed to pay for the shipping that is just a sample UPS lable. Anyway if you have received an RMA number , box it up along with all the cables. You'll receive new ones with your new unit.

If you need a PSU pretty quick you can call CS service on monday and request an advanced RMA.They will send you a new PSU before you have to send in the old. But you will need to call in for that because of credit card security reasons.

Er Mejo & TheTillHammer

You guys have to keep in mind Corsair sells tens of thousands of PSU's worldwide, monthly. In all reality it's closer to 100,000. (yes, that number is correct!) Unfortunately there is a failure rate on evry product sold in the world. So while it is a coincidence , it's not a huge problem. Yes there are units that fail the same way, but when you compare the amount sold, the failure rate on all of Corsair's PSU's is quite low.

Please don't think this is a "fan boy" response, just brutal facts.! :)

Maybe thats the reason why you can't buy it anymore...in most shops its not available for months!

No, just updating product lines. Everything has to come to an end sometime! :P

I like CS products and I will continue to use them. They have never let me down and their customer support is one of the best out there. Personally, I think there might of been a bad batch of AX1200i PSU due to some pressure. There have been quite alot of posts outside this forum with users experiencing the same type of problem. However, it probably won't take long until CS fixes the issue if they haven't done so already.

I will try give them a call tomorrow and see what happens. Sorry for the late reply by the way, for some reason the email notifications for this thread stopped coming through to my email.

What I will do is wait for the new RMA to go through and report back to see if the problem is gone.

If anyone else has/had this problem with the AX1200i then do let me know. Especially if you managed to fix it or have been able to do something to prevent it.

Thank you for the tips guys and especially Peanutz94 :)

2 PSUs doesn't make a valid dataset.

Adding a 3rd one with the same issue. You have to cut the power during some time before being able to turn the PC back on.

When turned on, all the values are goods (12, 5 and 3.3V), and the "Power Good" pin returns the expected 5V.

Turn it off... and you cannot turn it back on immediately :(

I guess this is the number you're searching for: Toll Free: +1 888-222-4346

You can call it using Skype, but I think this is an english service only.

I've had two AX650s with this issue. Both of them got the issue within 2 weeks of getting them, and the second one failed today. In fact, this is the fifth Corsair I've gotten in the past few months that's had some issue or another. All I want is a PSU that works, and Corsair is failing miserably at doing that.

The same problem started happening to me this month, the PC just simply will not boot up. The Corsair AX650 PSU is about an year old... Replaced it with my old crappy PSU (almost 5 years old) and everything works fine again.

I'm kind of disappointed that it seems that this is a "common" problem with this model. Now I'll have to send this to Corsair to RMA, which is really annoying. I'm guessing I'll have to pay quite a sum for the shipment, since the PSU is quite heavy. I seriously hope the one they send me back doesn't fail similarly in the next year, or I'm probably never buying/recommending Corsair again. Hell, my old crappy PSU I paid like 30€ for is still going strong, as evidenced by the fact it actually works better than this AX650 I paid at least 100€ for...

Turns out I'm supposed to pay for shipping from Portugal to the Netherlands. I checked shipping price tables, I'll be paying a third of the cost of the PSU (30€+ depending on some things) just so I can get a replacement for a problem I didn't cause, and seems to be common to this model. Knowing my luck, the new PSU would also break after about an year.

I'm disappointed.

There's no way I'm paying that much. To anyone thinking of buying Corsair in Europe, think twice before doing so if shipping 1.7kg+ to the Netherlands is too expensive for you!
