Pump booting slow...

Bryman

Recommended Posts

so this is the 4th boot with pump...so 1st boot with brand new pump...was fine..2nd boot...booted slow 3rd boot...fine and 4th boot...same thing i took some screenshots ill explain it first then post screenshots so...

it seems as though the pump boots at 750-800ish rpm (checked 10-15 seconds after boot) ...then keeps going down until it hits 550ish...then goes up to 2150 (normal speed)...so it keeps slowing more and more then bam its normal...dont think this is normal for pump to do this?

this is my replacement pump do i have to RMA a 2nd time?...

first pic was about 15 seconds after boot and 2nd pic is about 40 seconds after boot and 3rd pic is when its normal...note that about 3-5 seconds after 2nd pic it went up to normal but didnt take picture until about 10 min later

i mean it works PERFECTLY fine besides that one issue which i can live with

no because i hear buzzing from my computer and then the buzzing stops when it gets back to normal

also when it was around 700-750 it was buzzing loud and fast...when it went down to 550 right before it went back up...it was still buzzing loud but slower...so i know its reporting it 100% correct

when i say buzzing loud...its not really that loud...just a REALLY annoying buzz

ok thanks...ill have to decide if i want to RMA it or not...im fine with it glitching on boot...just afraid its going to have more problems in the future than this one

that buzzing noise is the worst noise on the planet even though its not that loud though...lol

but the noise stops 30-60 seconds after boot (when pump speeds up) so ya...its fine

Thats what i was getting at. But it's your hardware and if you want to put up with unit that is not functioning the way it should that your choice.

hmm i dont know though cuz first off the fans spin 100% for 5-10 seconds and i cant hear if the pump is glitching or not at boot...now it takes me about 7-8 seconds for me to get at desktop but over 12 seconds to get link open...but i can hear the pump noise once the fans slow down (again only did this 2 times so far) but cant see pump rpm until about as i said... 12 seconds after boot...dont think its a power issue...especially since its plugged in the exact same spot as my other pump...except the fan controller of course...although im honestly not sure if im using the exact same SATA cord...i think its sharing off my dvd drive...but shouldnt be more than 5 seconds of low power with the dvd drive...pretty sure at boot it spins then stops as soon as it figures out no disk is in there...i could try putting a disk in the dvd drive and running it i guess to see...

my whole point is only thing power wise it could be is split second power loss

k going to shut down computer to be able to look at cords without accidently pulling one while computer is on...also so i can see if it happens again when i reboot

so thats interesting...my dvd drive is getting power from the motherboard and the SATA cable is coming from my dvd drive...same set-up as last H80i...also i heard the buzzing noise at boot again but was MUCH less and went away much faster...but i think it happens every boot just not loud on all boots...

i think my ssd is sata 1 and the dvd drive is sata 2...and the sata cable cord is coming from my dvd drive

gonna upload a picture for the heck of it hang on

lightings kinda bad i used a flashlight on first 2 pics and the phone flash on the last pic actually worked quite well...hang on

ya...photos are kinda big...sorry bout that lol

might wanna hit the ctrl - button on keyboard til u get to 33 or 50% zoom...

in the 1st pic one in the front is being used and on 2nd pic one on the left is being used...the other one is not being used

hmm thats why apperantly iphone pics are 3264x2448 resolution...

just a thought,is the sata wire sharing, could be low voltage due to a start up and a split second power loss.

Thats impossible due to the way PSU's are wired internally. One header isn't going to be enough of a load especially from one of these coolers. You guys can keep screwing around with this all you want, but I can telll you for sure there is something wrong with that pump.

its preferable to rma yet another pump rather than exhaust possible causes?

sorry to me id rather check everything rather than pop $20 bucks and also costing corsair too.

i understand what your saying but i have seen where several devices using the same cord and once running all is good but on boot devices need much more which is where bryman problem occurs.

tomorrow i will try the other cable on the same sata cable but i doubt that will make a difference if it doesnt i might go RMA the pump

kinda ridiculous to RMA something that works perfectly fine except for the first not even 60 seconds the computer is turned on...so i might just keep it

well tried the exact same sata cord but just different plug on the sata cord and booted twice and didnt happen... but as i said before it doesnt always happen so that doesnt mean it was just the plug...dont see how the exact same sata cord but different spot on sata cord could make a difference anyway

also i do here this SLIGHT buzzing noise more of just a hissing noise or whatever but whenever i open link when that happens it says pump is running around 2250-2270 which is normal and then it goes away 5-10 seconds later...i think thats just the fans but the noise i was describing was definitely from the pump...

damn it did it again...my computer was making this buzzing noise so i opened link said pump was running 800 rpm and the buzzing noise got slower and slower until the pump rpm said about 550 and then it went back up to 2150

it was more like a crackling noise just real rapid but as i said it started getting slower as the pump rpm got slower then went away completely once the pump rpm went back to normal

think im going to keep this pump though...it works fine besides the crackling/slow pump a little after boot
