H100i giving me temps over 90c

Hi, I recently bought a h100i from newegg for my 8350 at stock, it would work I guess "ok" for the 1st couple of days (3 to 5 days) I would get temps such as 60c +- at max load and I could reach 8c at idle.

After not even one week my pc started to shut down on me without warning and I found out before long that it was happening right before my cpu would reach temps well over 80c when I'd be playing bf3 on the lowest settings after barely 5m... And it degraded.. I'm simply downloading a game on steam (8%-+ CPU load) and my cpu reaches temps such as 70c... sigh.

Honestly, I really don't want to go through to RMA process since I barely have time to work with college taking all my time I just work when I can and my wallet does not weight a ton...

If I can get some help from the forum It would honestly lift a weight off my chest and apparently corsair support site has been down for couple days so I'm stressing..

im just curious... how would you get 8C at idle? is it like 40 degrees in the room? jw

and did you change anything since you started getting these different temps? im assuming you didnt but just making sure

Well I live in canada and I like to leave my window open since I can't support the heat :), to be honest even now my cpu reaches temps as low as 5c at idle but once I start to use more than 5% the temps get ridiculous, I tried prime95 and it'll shut down my pc if I leave it open for more than 1m due to my cpu reaching 90c... I can't even download a game on steam without reaching 70c, sigh

I'm using an R5 rosewill case and the radiator mounted on top with the fans over it on the other side of the venting holes on the top, do you think the problem would be the heat is passed on to the case and that's why it can't cool down properly?

AntoineD the only thing that would cause your temps to suddenly go high would be a failing pump. Best to have the unit replaced.

Allright, thanks for your help forum :) I contacted newegg and they got me fully covered. Truly lifts off a chest off my weight and I can relax now, needless to say I won't be purchasing anymore corsair product :/

Ugh, good to have found another H100i that also has had this issue.

I have owned the H100i for about 2 months and now suddenly this occurs as well.

The pump also shows that it is running at over 2300 RPM.

Even at 11%~ load the CPU temp goes to 90C, absolutely ridiculous.

Removing mine today and installing back my NH-D14, never touching another closed loop water cooler again.

Needless to say it worked fine 2 months ago, and even last week. But 2 days ago this started to happen.

anytime and everytime the latest technology is introduced there will be a small % of users that will have issues, its a given so to speak. sometimes using air will better suit some simply because while not the best way,it is the easiest .

the model A car was veered as the most dependable mode of transportation but my *** wont get parked in its seat when theres better transportation available, even with its scheduled maintenance and constant repairing.;):
