MkUItra
In the past I've had the misfortune of having a 2 dimm kit and getting another 2 only to have it not working, so this time I want to ask before I make silly mistakes. I currently have 8GB on my system (2X4GB) from G.Skill, and it works great. but I've started doing some video editing and I could use the 16GB upgrade. I'm very happy with my Corsair PSU (AX750) and keyboard (K60) and when I needed them the customer service of corsair was absolutely fantastic, so I want my RAM to be Corsair as well. unfortunately my mobo (ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z) is getting a little old, neither the ASUS or Corsair websites can make a proper recommendation. will the CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 work on my motherboard? any other model I should consider? would a 2x8GB kit work? I'd really appreciate any input and help
peanutz94
Yes, those would work or you could use the 2x8gig kit as well. It's up to you.
MkUItra
thanks for the help man :) Asus QVL wasn't too much help (outdated). I've also just noticed that amazon actually have this 2x8GB as well. any idea on which would be the better pick 1600(CL9) vs 1866(CL10)? Edit: well I've decided to go for the CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9. Thanks!
peanutz94
Edit: well I've decided to go for the CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9.Either kit would have worked, but i think you'll be happier with the 1866mhz kit anyway.
