Toendy
Hey Guys, Since I’m making a new build I have a couple of question So in my old pc I just (2 or 3 months ago) upgraded all my coolers to 6 AF120 H.Perf. series. In advance for my upcoming build with a h100i, I also bought 4 SP120 H.Perf series . And to make clear, I’m loving them so far. ;): My upgrade will include a Obsidian 900D and a corsair link air and lighting kit and more. Because of the case I will order more fans but, will my current SP120 (that have 3pin connectors) work on the current corsair link air/light kit? I tried to control the fans on my asus fan expert 2 controller for now and it works fine without clicking (not that I can hear :p:) I want to use the fan controller of corsair so it will have a cleaner look inside. Also for practical reasons because most of the stuff will be with I series of corsair so I can link everything together. So question 1: Can I just buy the rest of my fans with SP/AF120 PWM series or do I need to replace the old ones to work with the corsair link controllers? If I need to replace them is there a possibility to replace them with the PWM series. Question 2: About the corsair link air/light kit, will you support delivery to Belgium? Because every authorized premier reseller I ask for the kit I get the same response; “its best that you order that kit directly on the corsair site because we can’t deliver it for now” Question 3: is it worth w8ting for the next version (if there is coming one) of corsair link controller or will there be no replacement for the next year ? because I’m not planning to get in the same situation like the fans :D: Keep in mind, I’m not asking to replace the fans. Because I will order new PWM series fans to use on the H100i kit. I’m really satisfied about the fans so far (except of the noise if there on 100% :p:) Now they will only go to 100% when I’m gaming so there is more noise from my speakers. But if they will run at 100% all the time I will get a very angry wife :p: So it’s really important that I can slow them down for the noise :D: And it will be cleaner that I can plug them in extra air controllers then with Y splitters to my mobo to get them all running. Also to run more than 10fans its better for my mobo (I think) to run them on a separate controller instead thru the mobo fan plugs. thx in advance and keep up the good work corsair ;): love your stuff. kind regards Toendy
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 15, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 15, 2013 So question 1: Can I just buy the rest of my fans with SP/AF120 PWM series or do I need to replace the old ones to work with the corsair link controllers? If I need to replace them is there a possibility to replace them with the PWM series. A: The cooling node will work with either fan 3 or 4 Pin but it will work best with 4-Pin PWM fans and Cooling Node F/W 1.2.5. But we have found with 3 Pin fans the shipping F/W works best Question 2: About the corsair link air/light kit, will you support delivery to Belgium? Because every authorized premier reseller I ask for the kit I get the same response; “its best that you order that kit directly on the corsair site because we can’t deliver it for now” A: I am sorry but you would have to call and ask our customer service on that but as far as I know we are only selling this product in USA and UK. Question 3: is it worth waiting for the next version (if there is coming one) of corsair link controller or will there be no replacement for the next year ? because I’m not planning to get in the same situation like the fans A: The Corsair Link as a product is not going to change but there will be a newer version of the software. I cant talk about UN-released products but we will I am sure in the future come out with newer link products. This is really a personal question and will require a bit more research to give your self the best answer. But for me I would not wait just be clear about what you want to do and ask and we will be happy to make suggestions.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 15, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 15, 2013 This was posted last month on another thread about the same type of question. But you will have best control on PWM fans with F/W 1/2/5 and best control of 3_pin fans with the shipping F/W 1.1.2. We are coming out with a line of PWM series of fans that will work great with our Cooling Node. However, if you have the Cooling Node now with 3 Pin fans you may have better control of the fans that are connected to the cooling node with F/W Ver. 1.1.2 but there may be a slight clicking sound from the fans And with the newer PWM Fans you will have full control and we would suggest using F/W 1.2.5 for the cooling Node. TAC or 3-Pin fans will work with either F/W but from what we have seen they will usually have better control with F/W 1.1.2. I would not worry about trying both versions and see which works best for your configuration.
